Brandon Staley is going to be a great coach, likely bringing the 49ers defense to a higher level than 2023. Another aspect of the 49er defense that people underestimate, is the free agent signing of Leonard Floyd, with 58 career sacks in 8 seasons. Leonard Floyd has been very healthy over 8 seasons, and was a big factor in the Rams 2022 Super Bowl win. If Leonard continued at his present pace for another 8 seasons, at age 38 Floyd would be number 23 on the NFL all time career sacks list with 116 sacks, just ahead of JJ Watt, who has 114.5 career sacks currently. Paired with Nick Bosa on the 49er D line, the pair should be reeking havoc on opposing QBs for some time to come.
