Something STRANGE is Happening with Hogwarts Legacy..

Perhaps they want to wait and release it along side with the update that will come this summer for Hogwarts Legacy to promote the game.

Tbh I forgot about it as well, but maybe they just want to release it closer to the summer update to build up hype again, idk tho 🤷

It's been nearly half a year since they announced the documentary (correct me if I'm wrong but was that announced on back to Hogwarts Day, Sept 1st?) so I agree with the second theory, I think it probably does have some info that can't be revealed yet. My personal theory is that once it's announced what the "additional updates and features" are, so will the documentary release date. They could coincide at the same time to bring the hype back.

The hype went down pretty quick once the nostalgia was quenched. Everyone now wants quality content and bug fixes. We will be considering your video visiting Avalanche studios as the documentary though ✨

My opinion is that they didn't plan any updates for the game and since they changed their mind they figured out it would be better for them to release the documentary to build up the hype for the update. Another thing is, Hogwarts Legacy became the best selling game of the year. A few months back, they didn't know that so they might've wanted to add something new to the video like the reaction of the Avalanche when they heard how successful the game has become and to make official announcements about future projects that were greenlit quite recently.

My immediate thought was that it talked about features and settings they were considering having in the 1st game, then cut. So they're worried that people would just be upset because the game could have been even cooler.

This is an extremely insightful video, Ben! I'm no longer an insider, but you are picking up on many of the signs that I've been noticing too. My thought here is that Hogwarts Legacy was so successful that it has become a centerpiece for the entire WB company. This means that there will be even more executive oversight and PR review for everything HL related than there was previously. So, my guess is that the PR and executive teams are smothering the local Avalanche Community Team that you guys all know and love so much (Chandler and friends) and won't let them "do their thing" anymore. Consider: The Community Team wouldn't have announced a documentary by the end of 2023 if they didn't think they could have delivered it. The fact that it hasn't been released yet is concerning. You are right to suspect that something must've happened. I gotta be honest here. My biggest fear for the future of Hogwarts Legacy is that it could become a victim of its own success. All those executives who have been running all those other failing WB projects are now casting their hooks into the one thing that is doing well for the company. All of them are going to want a piece of the action and are going to try and "get their stink" on any future HL games so they can claim involvement in the biggest thing going company-wide. IMO, the best thing the WB Executive Team could do would be to let Avalanche make a sequel that simply iterates and improves upon the first game by incorporating as much of what the fans want as possible. They don't need to re-invent the whole game, just take what's there as a foundation and build upon it: Fix the problems, fill in the missing bits and features, create new stories centered around the students, and include as much lore and additional fan service as possible - and they'll be on the right track. However, the fact that they haven't released the documentary could be due to "Product Positioning" such that the executive team is still trying to figure out how they want to introduce fans to a potential sequel and so they won't let the Community Team do anything until they figure things out themselves. There could easily be a push from all those additional executives swooping down on the game to take HL in a "bold new direction" and make it into a live service, micro-transaction, multi-player looter-shooter aimed at competing with Fortnite or something. Executives can sometimes be notoriously stupid like that. In any case, I think the change you've detected in how the Avalanche Community Team is interacting with the fans is real. To me, it suggests new layers of heavy executive involvement and PR oversight. And it concerns me for the future of HL.

I was really looking forward to that documentary. I thought they already released one though so I was a bit confused, because I'm pretty sure there was a full length video about the behind the scenes of the game. Also, I feel like I'm the only one actively asking Chandler and the company about the shirts. They had said there would be more after Ominis, but we haven't gotten anything else :(

Don't know what to say about this. But all the dcl addtional things that were coming on the anniversary didn't arrive for me. Felix Felicis potion, Minding Your Own Business dungeon, and a couple of other things that was suposse to b come out on DLC on Feb 7th. I've got a PS4, so do I have to wait until May 5th when it came out for that system? Tell me, do all things of DLC appear in the Additional Content in the main manu?

They probably added stuff from the work on the dlc and reactions from the team about the success of the game

As a person who's working in marketing I would agree on that it might be a case of they made a cut ready to publish but there were elements that promote something more than Switch version. Possibly WB didn't want it to be shown at the moment so they were in decision of cuting this off fom the documentary or wait to publish it when there would be a time for it, and beacuse of SSquad IP they need to wait, cause they are promoting other IP. So when they will be done with it then it will be a corrrect time to publish documentary. Fact that Avalanche team are so open in communication tell us that if it would be an technical issue, they would just say it. Maybe the documentary will be updated more on new things but I'm sure they will publish it eventually.

I think it’s simply a matter of they forgot. Happens all the time in the real world. Humans forget things that other humans remember. Simple.

I just hope we get a backstory on the Mc it’s crazy we don’t know anything about he/she frl like do we have any siblings or something I never knew they was also working on a documentary but we need it 💯

Hey, I have read some alarming news regarding WB games in general. The point is that they want to focus on “free-to-play”, live service and mobile games due to financial crash of “AAA” justice league. I am wondering is that anyhow going to impact the Wizarding World games, as some of them might be on the post-production stage and ready to be released. And we’ve got Quidditch Champions on the way to second playtests. I am highly sensitive to any bad news and cancels affected by suicide squad. Is there any rumours or news on what’s going on with our beloved franchise?
