These are the things that I HATE about my 2011 Jaguar XJL / X351! Please keep in mind before you dislike the video that I needed to nitpick to find enough things to talk about in this video. This car is an amazing machine and I love it more than any of the 10 previous cars that I've used. With that in mind please be kind when rating the video and also do not forget to subscribe for our 1,000 subscriber giveaway!

If these are the flaws of the jaguar xj, im getting myself a jaguar xj 😂😂
  • @Chief13.
The reason for the rear cupholders being on that side is because people who are being driven around in the back usually sit behind the passenger so they can have the front passenger seat up for more room and easier communication with the driver.

i had a motorcycle helmet which top coat went bad and developed that sticky residue all over it. Tried many different products to remove it but most of them started to eat through the paint, i finally found that my household cleaner did the job perfectly. Took easily off the sticky stuff but left the underlying paint and plastic in perfect condition. Product was Cif Professional Cream Cleaner Lemon 500ml. if you can find that cleaner then give it a try cleaning those sticky buttons.

I think you are honest and you are right, not very many videos out on how to, thanks for your efforts.
  • For nearly 3 years I owned a 2011 XJ "Portfolio", Lunar Gray over charcoal with cream piping. Of the +45 autos I've owned, it ranks in the "top 3" The XJ constantly made me feel special, no unike the +700 times I commuted over SF's Golden Gate Bridge, the last as thrilling as the first. Maybe I was too busy savouring the way the sleek, lightweight aluminium motorcar made me feel special. Unlike my prior Bimmers and Benzes where I saw myself "constantly coming & going" (same as my XK cabriolet vs the "very common SL's, and 645-650's). Jaguars ARE NOT for everyone. Way, way, too much to savour... Unaware of the lack of Rayban holders, or how to dirty my fingernails while changing my own oil. In fact, my XJ came with a 6-year / 60,000 mile bumper-to-bumper full warrantee that included free maintenance PLUS the dealer brought a loaner to my door to take mine for service, and returned it late afternoon! Knew where the "owner's manual" was, and never saw need to know where fuses were located. I did learn the 2011 XJ body-style inspired Elon Musk in designing the Model S, and in the Fall of 2010 when I acquired the 2011 XJ (internally called "launch edition"), I was not aware of any other vehicle of any brand, make, or model with full LED instrumentation. Wouldn't be surprised if the day, the ultra-talented Jaguar designer Sir Ian Callum unvailed the 2011 Jaguar XJ, resulted in sleepless nights in Stuttgart, Bavaria, and Inglostadt...Maybe you should buy a new Corolla with pre-paid maintenance program and a place to store your Raybans..

Many great ideas you raised, strange how their designers never saw that too. For a car in this segment, it should be so much better than any other - much cheaper - car in the market. My JXL has problems and faults I have never experienced in any other much cheaper car that I have owned.

Hi Mate. Loved your video. I work as a vehicle Designer designer at Jaguar Landrover in Gaydon. Warwickshire UK. The points you make are very valid. You should move to the UK and work for us. Cheers John.

You are on point on most of your comments. I am trying to post DIY for my 2012 XJ-L for brakes and oil and other maintenance...about the sticky buttons, I got rid of this issue by using Neutrogena Make-up remover.... it takes a little elbow grease, and effort.... but it eventually takes all that gummy surface off of the plastic

Nice video With regards to your windows not going up I've got a 2014 xj and the windows do go up if you hold the lock button( this is also the case for a 2004 I own) I think you may have an issue with your particular car Also with the rear cupholder issue the front of that armrest is made for an entertainment system in yours it hasn't got one I believe it was a trade off as to which is more important the cupholder or the entertainment to be more accessible Like I say a really informative video for sombedy considering an xj I've owned various ones over the past 30 or so years and wouldn't buy any other make

I found rubbing alcohol works great to remove the stickiness from the buttons. Be sure to use a white cloth when doing so.
