It's nearly impossible to believe this was the first ever win in the G1 Epsom Oaks for trainer John Gosden given all the great fillies & mares he's trained over the years. Taghrooda is a seriously talented filly with a very bright future provided she stays healthy. Very good run by the other Shadwell filly in the race also, Tarfasha. I would imagine Dr. Dermot Weld is quite pleased with what he's been seeing from her so far this season, too. I have a hunch we might see those 2 knock heads again at the Curragh when the Irish Oaks rolls around!! Following her 3-3/4 length Epsom Oaks victory, Taghrooda was made a 16-1 ante-post shot in this year's G1 Prix De l'Arc de Triomphe. She could be an interesting runner in the Arc with the weight for age break she'll get for being a 3yo, plus the weight allowance for fillies & mares. Something to keep in the back pocket when October rolls around. Sea The Stars would've been proud to have seen the performance put on display at Epsom today by his daughter!!

Brilliant race by this lovely daughter of Sea The Stars. Paternal grand-sire, the lovely Green Desert continues to show the enormous influence he's had in the shed. Great day for Shadwell.

So impressive, stamina was never going to be a doubt with her!

Taghrooda looked as if she had a real air of class about her after she won the Oaks at Epsom, but she absolutely confirmed what a special filly she is at Ascot with her win in the King George in my mind. She went by Telescope & Mukhadram in the stretch run of the King George like they were both idling in neutral. To put into perspective how special Taghrooda winning the King George was, she's the first 3yo filly to win the King George since Pawneese all the way back in 1976.

Brilliant Horse! You can see the scope she possesses.. I hope she aims for all the top honours as 10/12f.. she'll get a weight allowance too, which may make things interesting, if she ever meets the likes of Australia.. Gotta salute Sea The Stars too; his bollocks is worth its weight in gold!

She won her previous race extremely well, so I had to stay on her side today! Nice double with Thistle Bird :-)
  • I think Tagrhooda will do it with the weight allowance she will receive.plus after Godsen pulling her out of the Irish oaks she must be doing some serious stuff at home.Plus open to any amount of improvement.will be backing her for the arc as well shes a special horse !!! come on hanagan get her home :) Read moreShow less Reply  ·

I thought Taghrooda had every chance, took the opportunity and won comfortably. Marvellous disappointing.
