Stray Kids, Wolverine AND Deadpool?! Editor Reaction

In real life these guys really admire Ryan and Hugh which is what I think makes this moment so special for them. Their interactions go back years ago.

The reason this is probably the first time you are seeing Hollywood actors in a K-pop MV is because Stray Kids, especially Chan and Felix, have been friends with Hugh and Ryan for a couple of years now, though they are closer with Ryan. Chan and Ryan have done interviews, talked on social media, and Ryan celebrates Chan’s birthday every year and hypes up their comebacks on social media every time. They got to meet in person and did interviews since Ryan and Hugh are in Korea to promote Deadpool. This is all thanks to Stray Kids choosing a Deadpool concept for one of their Kingdom performances (fun fact: their company first rejected this idea :D) and Stays did edits and made the performance go viral to the point where Ryan saw it, and that’s how their conversation started. He sent a bottle of alcohol, his own brand, to Chan, and Chan sent him a signed album. Ryan mentioned Chan as his “new favorite Australian,” so Hugh was pretty much added to the conversation too, and he talked about Felix being one of his favorite members. Now they are in the "Chk Chk Boom" MV, and Stray Kids is going to be on the new Deadpool movie’s soundtrack with “Slash.” By the way, Ryan mentioned in an interview that Marvel had no idea they were going to be in the "Chk Chk Boom" MV, not to mention as Deadpool and Wolverine. 🤭 This is just pure friendship

My interpretation: stray kids are getting very popular, their music is spreading (like the graffiti on the city) and when Ryan says “how long have you been there” they answer “for a while”. They’ve been painting the world with their music for seven years but the world is starting to notice only recently.

They did a performance for Kingdom with Deadpool as the theme. Since then the members (espacially Bang Chan and Felix) have been been collecting marvels heroes like Dead Pool (Ryan Reynolds), Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) and even Thor (Chris Hemsworth) at the met gala.

Sure, toilet humor is universal, but I’d like to think the whole “missing curtain call because you’re trapped on the can without toilet paper” gag is a JYP deep lore throwback to 15 years earlier to the Wonder Girls’ “Nobody” music video’s similar opening/closing skit.

SKZ is friends with Ryan AKA Deadpool who has a new movie with wolverine coming out here shortly and SKZ is friends with Reynolds and Reynolds is also a fan of SKZ. And I couldn't tell you how shocked I was to see them in the start of the MV i thought I clicked on the wrong thing or it was an ad.
