Welcome to Part 2 of our full-discography deep dive on one of the most fascinating forces within hip-hop today: Death Grips. If you haven’t already, please go watch Part 1 first, where we go over our interpretations of what the experimental trio was trying to say on its 2011 debut mixtape Exmilitary. In this episode, we will be talking about how that hyperactive, noisy little project earned the band a major label deal, as well as the first of two inextricably linked albums which that deal helped produce. Welcome to The Money Store.

Yes we made a nearly 2 hour video on Death Grips. I know the world is going through some really tough times, but you folks have all given so much love, so I wanted to really thank you all [Death Grips fans and overall Supporters] for giving us the motivation to cook this one up. It's hefty, and we felt it was necessary as this is an absolutely legendary album. As I mention in the video, treat this one like a long-form podcast episode. We hope you enjoy all the hard work Jakob and I put into this one.

Hacker gets better and better the more I understand it
  • By the way, I'm not sure if you know, but the money store cover art is actually a drawing of a real picture! It's a picture from Folsom street fair
  • How the fuck do you only have 9.5K subs? This channel is fucking incredible. I hope to see you blow up and get the exposure you deserve

godamm 2 hours of content, thaks for the hardwork
  • One other interesting thing realted to the cover. In Beware, Ride sings "beggar on a bitche's leash", which is just a perfect description of the money store cover. Foreshadowing?
