Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has given his first speech as UK prime minister.

Addressing the nation outside Number 10 Downing Street in London, the new prime minister promised to "rebuild" the country's "infrastructure of opportunity... brick by brick".

Labour achieved a landslide victory in the UK general election – ending 14 years of Conservative government.

    I'm no fan of Starmer, I didn't vote Labour, but I am glad to see the back of the Tories and I really hope this Labour government can actually make meaningful, positive changes in the lives of the country. 14 years of decline is too much for any country and we need to start rebuilding
