It was a proper win. No one criticizes an Indy 500 fuel win. You win, you get a trophy and a ton of points. Good for her.
  • Fuel mileage wins are weird. I get people giving her flack for it. But at the same time if you watched how she did it, she knew from the start of the stint she had to conserve. It's hard as a racing driver to convince yourself to get passed and stay driving slower than you know you can go. She did it and saved at the right time in the right places to where she could run faster at the end of the race than Castroneves and was able to save more than the rest of those on the same strategy. I give her credit for it. It wasn't everyone else's miscalculation giving her the win. It was her being one of the only ones willing to do what was necessary for the long haul to make it work.
  • Fuel management is part of racing. There's nothing about it that takes away from her win. Racing isn't just putting your foot to the floor. Pit strategy and fuel management are equally important.

Win is a win. Better strategy, better gamble and she drove it precisely in conjunction with what her team was telling her!! Can't take anything away from her. It was her day. ❤️
  • On the day it turned out to be the fastest way to get a car from lap 1 to lap 200. If any of the big names, Dixon, Castroneves, Wheldon or Kanaan had won with the same tactic they would have been applauded for their tactical genius. You have to be in the right places at the right times to win.
  • Danica Patrick remains the only woman to ever notch a premier series closed course victory. She should have remained in Indycar and NASCAR haters gonna hate, but she was good enough to win in Indycar as she and Andretti Racing proved here. Despite what haters will say, she was good for the sport of motor racing.
  • People give her a hard time( me included) but this was a proper great win. Danica and the team played a good hand. Cool vid. Subbed.

(Currently Binging your videos lol) No matter how much shit she gets in other series for her performance she's done far more as a professional race car driver than I ever could haha Danica always gets props in my book

Loved following her from when she started. Always hoped she would do well. Would have loved to see her win the championship.
  • Helio would later say that Danica was smarter than he was in that race. She managed fuel consumption better than he did.
  • I love that wide oval track in Japan. wish they had that kind of track on the West Coast. Danica made a mistake going to NASCAR. It is too bad she didn't get a 2nd win to really legitimatize her win. Or even win 3 total to prove she was no fluke. She was a seasoned driver had a good career. She beat the top drivers in the field so it was legit.

Great Vlog I grew up in Speedway Indiana back in the 70's and am all a buzz now with the Month of May among us but I am now living in the Philippines so the race will come and go without my seeing it live......My YT feed is flooded with Indy Car Vloggers now and I appreciate the effort you put into this one.

"and no-one else in sight" says it all. To win a race you need to get ALL your shit together, and she did.
  • @combatking20
"To finish first, first you must finish." Someone a hell of a lot more accomplished and wiser than myself said that once.
