I love the shape of the DBrand plates, but was way more interested in the Cosmic Red color and ended up getting those because DBrand's color options were boring.

I got the OG Dbrand collar plates. Quality is amazing, they sent me 2 extra skins as well because the shipment was delayed (to Australia). They also sent me an apology email preemptively and kept me informed even though I didn't ask them anything. Really genuine down to earth brand. Very gamer vibes as well.

The colour differences you are talking about are called metamerism. Two different colours can actually look identical under one lighting condition and completely different under another lighting condition. You probably didn't see huge differences because of your studio lighting (full spectrum and quite close to incandescent lighting or sun light), but cheaper LED lights might completely shift the tone of the plates compared to the controller.

I’ve got the black dark plates 1.0 and the same retro gray 2.0 plates. Personally the 2.0 plates are where it’s at. It considerably improves the look of the console. I hated the “fins” on the standard plates.
