When Maggie said at 7:22 "I miss my brother", this evoked both warmth and sadness.
  • What I appreciate is how these scenes handled a sensitive topic without telling people exactly how they should feel about it. The characters felt real and you could see that they tried to be supportive but messed up their words occasionally. It's much more realistic than shows that have one character be the overly supportive saint and the other be the completely dismissive demon

The way Maggie is sad for her sister but still makes a joke about lots of stuff is heart warming

I can only imagine how health issues like this effect a transgender person and it's all the more reason I urge people to take their health seriously. I am glad that more and more friends and family are supportive like Maggie is to her sister. At the end of the day, no matter your pronouns, you're someone special and you worthy of a healthy happy life.
  • "I learned a long time ago that you have to do what makes you happy. Even if some people think it's weird." I can't really explain it but this line feels so powerful especially with Maggie looking at her sister. Her sister must've gone through so many complaints from her family members probably even Maggie herselft but pushed through and did what made her happy. Being her true self.

I love that haltsead is not judgemental with his patients. He maybe akward but he means well and he tries to do his job in intention for the best long term result for the patient. One thing I critize about him that he is sometimes too pushy when the patient doesn't want the treatment, but mostly he does come around.

How come they never show how expensive medical treatments are in America on these medical shows?

Don’t hide anything from your doctors it’s important to tell them anything that is medically relevant. It could be crucial.

Maggies reaction is perfectly normal to it. I'm trans and I've had people in my life mourn who I used to be and that's okay. It's a process that you can miss one and celebrate the other side of it

i love that shes trans, but maggie focuses alot on how her sisters transition affects her, especially in her early seasons appearance. not really the trans rep i wanna see but i do like seeing a medical professional treating a trans patient with respect like halstead
  • I'm still wondering why I keep watching Chicago med even though it makes feel so sad.
  • In this show , all the people who works to save lives are given equal importance . They are treated with respect. Unlike grey's anatomy where nurses are looked down upon.

If people in the comments are going to be rude and disrespectful of someone’s gender, can they please just ignore the video and take their unwanted opinions elsewhere? Thanks. As for the video itself. I was interested to see how Doctor Halstead handled this situation because I know he’s not always the best at understanding patients history, but I think he did well this time.
  • Woah that's quite the plot twist. Gosh I love this show and I just discovered it. When I'm not watching the series online I come here to watch these. No regrets lol
  • @Nedread
1:27 "Let me guess: because of a guy?" ".. something like that." If that's what I think Maggie was implying, that was a subtle but well placed piece of dialogue.
  • Have been going through the comments on here, some lovely people in this world, some, not so lovely, all I want to say is, I watched my lovely dear father slowly die of this prostate cancer, it was awful, I wouldnt wish it on anyone, I know many will say its not relavant to this, I just wish there was a screening programe in place, it would save many lives
  • @AbigailsUniverse
love how Will is with them and is part of the family (like Maggie's brother figure) and as a result is an uncle to her kids - warms my heart to see

I think something key about this is that the one chicago team casted a trans woman for this role. She brings to her character a deep element of understanding and experience, for the difficulty to both herself and those who care for her, as well as coping with how those around her react, trying to care for herself and them throughout a period of transition.

I am sorry, but birth gender is relevant in medical situations. I know it's not fair, but there are medical conditions that are caused by the body that you are born with. You should be able to be who you are, but.....
