Could Kratos Defeat Elden Ring? (In Lore)

In this video, I go over the God of War Kratos from Ragnarok and put him against the pantheon of Gods from Elden Ring. Would he be able to defeat all of them? Could he burn down the Erdtree? Could he survive and take down Maliketh and Destined Death? How would him against Elden Lord Godfrey, Radagon, and the Elden Beast actually go?

Includes a lore catalog of all of God of War Games, but is mainly focused on Kratos in Ragnarok. Both series are being based on lore, not on game mechanics. (Although sometimes Game Mechanics are canon in certain areas and need to be addressed)

  • elden boy it seems most people enjoyed the video! but two small things seem to bother people: 1. I said it doesn't matter if you think Old Kratos is weaker or stronger than Young because it just doesn't. I also want to placate to both sides as it is somewhat debated about in a lot of spaces and didn't want this video to focus on Kratos vs Kratos when it wasn't important. 2. I do say Caelid as Kylid. I have zero idea why, I guess in my head it was just more fun to say it that way as I did all my playthroughs and it just stuck with me. Hope that doesn't bother people too much!

One peculiar thing about Kratos is that, as a God of War, he gets stronger the more he fights - he's practically a Broly in that regard. So I imagine the world and enemies of Elden Ring would be like a never-ending stream of zenkai boost for him.

Kratos is not weakened. He’s a pacifist. He holds back a lot because he has matured beyond his rage and resentment.

I know I’m late, but the developers have confirmed that Kratos has definitely become far stronger, he’s just more disciplined with his actions

I love how canonically, the Tarnished is killed by all these bosses multiples times, only to come back and try again.
  • Kratos: Come boy, we march for Malenia Atreus: no father we should gain her trust as an allie for war Mimir: "Telling random stories he heard about the elden ring and the gods there"
  • No matter the outcome, Kratos vs. Radahn would be a spectacular battle

I think Maliketh is the only one that has a chance to defeat kratos and kill him once and for all using destined death

Kratos is not weak, he has grown older, he has more experience, and has learned from past mistakes. He now holds back, because he rather not go all out and cause unnecessary destruction and death if he can avoid so.
  • I always see kratos as being stronger in base then young kratos. The only difference being that young kratos has stacked equipment like the power of hope and blade of Olympus while also being bloodlusted. Old kratos is always holding back it seems.

Kratos vs The Dark Souls pantheon would’ve been a lot more contentious. With some of the top-god tiers being able to sustain or fuel constructs, which arguably collapses multiple universes onto each other while also distorting their time and space. And with even dragons existing before time and maybe space.
  • It would be interesting to see Seth talk more about the Souls games. There is a lot of power scaling potential and speculation on how strong were some of the characters in their prime.
  • I think the real question is, could the Tarnished survive the GOW universe? I bring this up because throughout the video I had an image of my head of Baldur knocking on Kratos’ door and seeing the Tarnished before asking “who the hell are you?”

Kratos fighting rahdan would be legendary. Kratos would parry that star chaser attack.

Cory Barlog confirmed that Kratos' strength increases with age and that he would defeat his younger self without question

this guy spent the whole year removing all the comments against him lol

bro. older kratos is not weaker. It’s not even a debate, the creators of the game confirmed themselves that older kratos is much stronger
  • One argument in the Elden Ring verse’s favor is that, in the Elden Beast fight, the arena is made up of hundreds of Erdtrees. If we take this to be a representation of multiple realities (which is incredibly likely), then the Elden Beast functions on the level of multiversal threats, something which it’s super debatable Kratos can at all contend with. By that logic, not only could the Elden beast have a good chance of defeating Kratos, so does Malenia, from the fact that not only did she resist the goddess of rot for so long, but she had also become the goddess of rot’s physical avatar in phase 2, making Kratos deal with a power being brought down to his comprehension.
  • so most people don't know this but Kratos is actually stronger than his past self, it may seem like he is "worn down" or "weakened" but that is (mostly) because he doesn't want to go back to his past self, I've also heard that he only uses 30% of his power but that may not be true

You weren't powerful enough to beat the allegations 😔
