This is my try at reviewing my brand new Kramer IWB#2 (Inside the Waist Band #2) holster.
This holster is constructed of top quality horsehide, a type of leather that is significantly more durable and abrasion-resistant than cowhide.
You do pay a premium for this, but this is top quality.
Kramer's website can be found at www.kramerleather.com/
I should also mention that it took quite some time for me to get this holster after I initially ordered it.
I ordered it on April 10, 2012 and finally received it on June 20, 2012, but their website explains that average shipping is between eight and ten weeks after ordering.
The reason is that they do not mass produce at all, but handmake their holsters one at a time, to the exact specifications of your specific gun.
For instance, they wanted to know if my S&W 1006 shown here had a squared (as the S&W 4506 does) or rounded trigger guard, and also whether mine had fixed or adjustable sights.
Mine turns out to have a rounded trigger guard with adjustable sights, and I am quite pleased with the very high quality and fit of this holster, worth the small premium I gave for it.

You Are So Right 👍🏼 The Most Comfortable Holster. Horsehide will last Longer. Kramer is Simply The Best 🤙🏼
  • $286 horsehide...the better option, or $269.50 cowhide, but they definitely make it. Go to the link I put in the description, then on the link in the column on the left under "GUN HOLSTERS" for "Shoulder Rig Gun Holster." It'll be either the second one down in the right column or the third one down in the left column. Be sure to specify whether your 4506 has squared or rounded trigger guard. I also recommend calling them at 888-KRAMER-1. A review of your own would be great when you get it, too.

Thank you for posting - have been looking for a holster for my 1006 - Kramer was recommended on the S&W Forum
  • One other thing I wanted to mention is that horsehide is much denser and more impermeable than cowhide, so dying it any color other than black can show slight color variations. There's even a review on YT with a Kramer holster in mahogany that shows a bit of that, but the reviewer (and I) both think it only makes it look even nicer.
