TECHNIQUE OF THE WEEK: BERIMBOLO SERIES PART 2: BACKWARD ROLL SWEEP!

My name is Nathan Mendelsohn, 2nd Degree Black in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and former Number 8 ranked Adult Black Belt Middleweight Gi athlete in the world (Flograppling Rankings).
My goal over the course of my next several "Techniques of the Week" will be to get each and every one of you to effectively pull off a solid berimbolo! The berimbolo is often dismissed by many as a move that only "small" or "flexible" people can do but I am here to disprove that myth! At the academy where I teach (Claudio Franca BJJ Santa Cruz) I have been teaching this sequence to my students step by step over the course of the past month and have been able to get EVERYONE to pull off a solid berimbolo, from white belts to black belts, young to old, small to large, flexible to inflexible! So don't be intimidated! Stay tuned over the next couple weeks to learn how to pull off a solid berimbolo for yourself! This backwards roll sweep is the first step to starting to take advantage of the berimbolo to gain a better position!
