I'm a life long Kentucky fan but I must admit I was fighting back tears watching this. They did him wrong back then, so I was very happy that he went back to IU and got his flowers before his passing. Rest in peace coach!

I had tears watching this, what memories! I’m. A Tarheel fan but I always loved Bobby!

I cried from start to finish. He remains a hero. Loved watching his teams play. Loved his candor. His post game press conferences were epic. The stories of both his charitable endeavors and unrelenting goodwill to friends/players in need r only matched by his coaching brilliance. R.I.P. Coach Knight.

What a moment in time. So glad that he was able to come to Indiana a few years ago and reconcile with the University and the fan base after what happened there. He was The General and one of the greatest to ever teach Xs and Os on the hardwood.
  • Iconic moment for the Hoosiers fans and Indiana University. Bob knight loved his students, loved the game of basketball, loved to Coach , loved molding teenage boys into young men , loved that his students all graduated, most of all he loved to win. The world lost a tremendous life force. Rest in Paradise Mr. Knight.

I'm a 62 year old grown man and I get just a little weepy watching this. Lifelong Michigan fan but just love this man and what he stood for. 98% graduation rate is all you need to know about him besides his tough, wining nature. He brought the best out in every player. I LOVE that he was able to return and participate in this honor. He certainly was a force of nature. I hope he received everything in life he could have hoped for.

Such a special moment. I’m so glad it happened before he passed away. RIP, Coach.

The world has forever changed. Eventually, there will be no more legends.

Folks can call Coach Bob Knight crazy if they want to but at the end of the day, each time he coached neither of his programs had a single NCAA recruiting violation and the players he coached always had high graduation rates. The younger generations today outside of Generation X could never survive playing under a head coach like Bob Knight. Being a competitor in his era meant that you have to be hard core in demanding the best team playing attitude out of everyone and the hardest work from the entire team.

Goosebumps the inspiration on all the lives he helped god bless and rest easy Bobby
  • General, we Hoosiers failed to appreciate your brilliance, integrity, and courage. As a native Hoosier, I am glad that you were indeed vindicated, with the adoration, respect and gratitude for your contributions to Indiana's sport programs and sporting philosophy. May you rest in peace and know that you were a great man, leader, and mentor, for more than just your players, but for kids in all walks of life.

I grew up in Indiana as a kid in the 80s. Those cold winter nights when IU had a game during the week, my parents would let me stay up late to watch the game on Channel 4 in Indianapolis. Watching this was definitely a gut punch. Made me realize how great those times were and what a privilege it was to grow up as an IU fan. May the Hoosiers return to their former glory.

Hero or villain? Does not matter. Legends and icons will never die. Bobby showed the basketball world who was the Boss. RIP.🙏🏼🙏🏼
