Shooting my Marlin 39A (1984 manufacture) at the fifty yard range, both offhand and from the bench, during a light rain.
I could have done much better from the bench, but my rest wasn't the greatest.
The ammo I was using was the Winchester Wildcat 40 grain solid, and I shot one group each offhand and from the bench, of 20 rounds each.
Sorry about all the audible breathing from the bench, but I'm pretty tall, and it's uncomfortable shooting from a benchrest that was designed for people about nine inches shorter than I am.
Additional info about some of the extras with the rifle.
The scope is the Leupold VX-I Rimfire 2-7x28mm with Leupold Alumina flip-up scope caps.
Here is a link with details about this scope - www.leupold.com/hunting-shooting/scopes/rimfireult…
The camo stock covering is the excellent vinyl Kane Gun Chaps, which is unfortunately no longer being manufactured.

  • Good video on the finest 22 levergun ever made. You and I are lucky to be owners of 39As.

Pinkold where did you get the camouflage covers? I like that looks good .

Pinkold I bought the same scope you have on yours last night. From all the reviews it seems to be a good scope. How is the clarity and the focus on it? My shots are normally 25 to 60 yards squirrel hunting . I hope it works pretty good at those distances.
