WHAT WE PURCHASED (and how to do it cheaper). Our total was about $850, it can be done for about $500, see notes.

Four cameras: www.supercircuits.com/4-megapixel-starlight-ip-tur…

One NVR recorder: www.supercircuits.com/8-channel-ultra-h-265-ip-net…

The reason to get 8 channel is if you want to have more than four cameras, either now or in the future. If you know you want just 4 channels you can save by ordering a four channel NVR.

When we ordered the recorder, we added 2 Terabyte memory which they installed. We see that we have about two weeks of data by leaving four cameras on all the time. Therefore we think you'll be fine by adding just 1 Terabyte memory at time of order.

  • Word of advice from a trucker: The laws in ALL of the states in the US require drivers to either (1) move over OR (2) slow down when any police car or emergency vehicle with it’s lights flashing is parked on the shoulder. A buddy of mine got caught once doing neither and it cost him a bunch of time and an attorney fee to get the ticket reduced to a non-moving violation.
  • Truck driver here! I’m a professional driver, I drive for a living so I’m more aware of the driving laws than others, You should’ve signaled too get over, maybe someone would’ve let you over, if you can’t get over, you’re too slow down too half the posted speed limit and stay as far too the left as possible while still being in your lane, this isn’t just law for emergency vehicles, this is also the law for anyone working on the highway tow trucks, construction crews, etc. Although I believe they should make the move over law too include moving over for everyone. Even tho you’re not required by law too move over for stopped passenger vehicles on the shoulder it is the respectful and safest thing too do. Stay safe y’all.

This lovely couple is a prime example on how to be married forever together❤❤ y'all so cute together😊😊
  • @danielmunson1920
If you can't move over, you have to slow down to 20 mph under the posted speed limit
  • Interesting topics! All three. 🙃 When our B&W base developed a crack, we asked a local welder to reinforce it and he strongly recommended we contact the manufacturer. B&W in turn sent us a replacement totally FREE of all charges. We actually dropped of the defective unit to them as we went north. Hats off to any company standing by their product!
  • I drove a tow truck for years so I have been on the other end of this story. We all know the stories of what happens when things go wrong. It is life changing. Sometimes it is life ending. Before you start your vehicle always anticipate that today will be the day to anticipate the unexpected and also say a little prayer.
  • @brenterprise09
I recommend looking farther down the road , I understand that sometimes you can't see farther down the road because of obstacles, traffic , hills etc. in that case however, think you should have seen that police officer and lights sooner than you did. Professional truck driver for many years and I'm just being honest. Really. Enjoy your videos!
  • @renees1021
Oh, you two are so adorable. Please keep enjoying your travels for those of us that can't. Seriously, your demeanors make me want you to be happy. 😊
  • Love y'all's good attitude and your tips! I've been married to the love of my life for 40 years now. I can attest to everything y'all said! Glad to hear that Anderson is standing by their product and that you got such good service from Morewood (spelling?). I'm not an RV'er but I sure do understand the attraction.
  • Bad day yesterday. Sometimes you talk about it, sometimes you cry, sometimes you take a nap, sometimes you just have to laugh, sometimes it's all of that. A good night's sleep helps a lot. Thanks Liz and Paul! So frustrating when other drivers won't let you over. Of course you made the right choice, Paul. You and some others could have had a really, really bad day if you had moved over anyway. So glad you didn't. Happy Camping guys!
  • @tw8464
Such good advice. This made me feel calm and peaceful. So important to stay calm and positive when traveling. Keep up the good work!
  • @wholmes5955
I might have missed if you mentioned if you slowed down from 64/65 mph, but in Florida, the law is if you can't safely move over, you must slow down to at least 20 mph slower than the posted speed limit. (I don't know about KY.) This is for first responder's safety. Sorry about the ticket.
  • @rickl6697
In S.C., our home state(and probably most states) is you must either move over or slow down 10 mph below the posted speed limit.(If an emergency vehicle is stopped along the highway with their lights on). I always told my kids growing up to learn from their friends mistakes, it's a lot cheaper. Thanks for posting this Paul, you have probably saved countless people from the same heartache. Safe travels.
  • @auston246
You are the most wholesome people I have ever seen. Role models!
  • Perfect advice for " a bad day don't make it worst than it already is" like that.
  • Also a tip: If this happens to you again when you can’t move over to the next lane, turn on your flashers and safely slow down as much as you can as soon as you see the flashing lights of the parked emergency vehicle. That will help make your case with the LEO that you could not safely move over AND turning on your flashers helps alert drivers behind you or a hazard up ahead on the road.
  • @GunsmithLC
I saw this earlier - and wanted to give you a bit of info: In Wisconsin, the law is such that you must move over a lane when there is an emergency vehicle with lights flashing on the shoulder.. However, IF the lanes are full and you cannot move over, you must reduce speed to 45 mph or less when passing... IIRC, it's the same in MN... Best wishes you two!
  • @vickijohnson9367
You guys exemplify what it means to be truly good humans “being”. Blessing be to you through out your lives! Just excellent!
  • I love the way you both handle your bad day! Great advice! Getting upset, and I admit I usually do, does nothing but make everything worse. The ticket situation is tough, but if you can't get over, you are supposed to safely reduce your speed. They're are instances, where you have to just do your best, as you did, and move on. Thanks for sharing!
