Dopamine Land

𝘿𝙤𝙥𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝙇𝙖𝙣𝙙!

I enjoy going to 𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐩𝐨𝐩 𝐮𝐩𝐬 with my friend, April. We love to 📷 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐬, and finding ✳️ 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐬 is an adventure.

We also really love the 𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐭 element, where there’s a theme or a promise of “𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲” 🤸‍♀️ versus a museum aspect of 🚫 “𝐝𝐨 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐜𝐡”.

A lot of “𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐟𝐢𝐞 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐮𝐦𝐬” promise an interactive experience, but fail to provide 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 of art and emotion 👩‍🎨 beyond demonstrating you were somewhere without needing to 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 anything while 𝐁𝐄𝐈𝐍𝐆 there AKA standing in a line to get the same photo as 1,000 others. 🤖

Dopamine Land, however, was 𝐍𝐎𝐓 like that.

🌈🌈🌈 𝐃𝐨𝐩𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐚 𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢-𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝!

The first room, it 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐭 in the coolest way. 😵‍💫 I have 𝐬𝐲𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐚 so maybe that’s why, but I genuinely thought I was in a 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝. I genuinely couldn’t tell if the space I was in was one meter or the size of a warehouse because of the 𝐦𝐢𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐫𝐬. 🪞It was 𝐚𝐛𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥. 🪩

One of my other favorite rooms was the one with the 𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗹𝗹𝘀 and the 𝘁𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝘀. 👅👃 There was a giant 𝗴𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 machine and there was an 𝟴𝟬/𝟮𝟬 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 you’d get a normal tasting gumball. I thought those chances were pretty good, but I’m a 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 so I probably shouldn’t have taken that chance, and I got a weird tasting once and it was crazy.

It was a real thing they were doing. Not just photo-ops. But 𝙞𝙢𝙢𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚. 😶‍🌫️

I felt 𝙞𝙣𝙫𝙞𝙜𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙙 by senses, 𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙢𝙚𝙙 by trees, 𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙙 by poetry, 𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙙 𝙤𝙪𝙩 by lights, 𝙚𝙭𝙘𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙙 by possibility. They 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐣𝐨𝐛 with art. 🎨

❣️❣️ 𝘐 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴, 𝘐 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘪𝘵, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘪𝘵. 👀
