Godzilla fans after the GXK Trailer in a nutshell:

I understand if you miss the grounded Tone of the MV and 2014 but even as early as KSI the wider grander / goofier concepts have been at the front and center of things. I’m not criticizing your preference but it’s a preference that is being accommodated for in New films such as minus one and even in the MV itself with 14 roughly hour long episodes as shown on monarch legacy of monsters. Let the other fans have there fun why can’t we have multiple tones and aesthetics for Godzilla films? If anything it keeps the Franchise and IP fresh. Look at the MCU for examples where EVERY film has the same tone/ style and aesthetic leading to honestly boring film after a while. Godzilla can both be a superhero or an allegory for nuclear Holocaust, because yes even though he started as that time has proven he’s evolved to be much more than that. he’s whatever the plot needs him to be and abiding to that rule has led to a franchise that is wildly unique in its stories/tones and premises leading to a franchise that has been relevant for 70+ years in all forms of media. Once again your entitled to not like it or dig it but don’t talk down to others who do.

I start to thinking that the people want Godzilla to be serious just to be edgy and forget the fact that even in the originals movies he was goofy. Just because "The same guy who made Evangelion made Shin Godzilla" doesn't meant that from now everything must be Shin Godzilla. Damn, the guy that made the original Godzilla (1954) was the same that made Godzilla doing a flying kick or flying with his own atomic blast.

Pretty much how it is. I’ll always love a Godzilla movie with a serious tone but at the same time don’t mind if we get a film that has mindless action. Just hope they polish the vfx up more in it. One thing people tend to forget is the reason the franchise has lasted as long as it did is because it has variety. Weather u want a Godzilla film with a serious tone and is more grounded or if u want dumb fun and mindless action. Idk why we can’t just be ok that we’re getting both

People who are saying that rhe Monsterverse fell off after 2014 are acting as if that movie had a good human plot to begin with (at least imo). Having a serious tone doesn't automatically make a movie good as the Showa Mechagodzilla films had turned Godzilla into a magnet and had alien monkeys trying to invade Earth but they also had a very solid plot and humans characters to go along with it. This goes to show that the Godzilla franchise has always revolved around versatility whenever it comes to tone, directing, action or sci-fi elements regardless of the quality of the script or narrative. The fact that people think making the Monsterverse serious again will "save" it is absurd when Godzilla has always managed to work in one way or another when it came to their approach to the story. It's not guaranteed that New Empire will be good but that is a very simple-minded excuse to carry out in this fandom, especially when Toho has done crazier stuff than what was shown in the trailer.

Godzilla fans watching him do a dropkick or fly with Atomic Breath: "Cinematic Masterpiece." Godzilla fans watching him run for approximately 15 seconds of movie time: "This is the greatest piece of dog shit I've ever seen, Godzilla never does anything remotely agile or goofy."

Ok, this is getting ridiculous. Honestly, I actually don't care if this is serious or not. Though, as long it has good action scenes, I'm good. But the design some people are complaining should know that this is like different designs of Millennium era. Even Showa and Heisei. So if they can do different designs, why not Monsterverse?

I mean, there is nothing wrong with Godzilla’s new look. It’s perfect for him. He is much stronger, more durable, more powerful and now much faster. I welcome it. May I remind fans that Godzilla in Final Wars was leaner and faster than his previous incarnations? There is no reason to keep Godzilla ground. He LITERALLY defies all laws of physics to begin with, Showa, GIH and Marvel Godzilla take it away. 😂

I love the serious shit Toho is doing with their Godzilla and the goofy shit Monsterverse is doing with their Godzilla. In my opinions it’s the perfect balance, on one side we have the serious, Heisei-like dark movies with brutality, and one the other side we have the more silly, less grounded, more Showa like movies. It perfectly even out and I love both. And if you’re a Showa fan yet you dislike the shit Monsterverse is doing, you’re straight up lying to yourself

It's almost like people don't know that Godzilla has always had massive tonal shifts between dark and serious, and almost ludicrously childish fun. We can have both, in fact we do have both, and we can be happy about it. This is golden age to be a Godzilla fan! Minus One, Monarch, plus Godzilla X Kong! This is great stuff!!

Godzilla fans are so picky. They're literally like Patrick in this video. We're getting so much good Godzilla content nowadays and yet people are shitting on Monsterverse just because it's not as good as the Japanese ones. I can't imagine being a Godzilla fan after Final Wars came out when they basically had nothing coming out for years before 2014 released. Be grateful that Godzilla is getting movies again and appreciate them both the Japanese and Monsterverse ones.
