We try out the premium room onboard the Caley Sleeper to see what it's like with two people in there! And will we get any sleep? Join us on an overnighter from London to Glasgow...

Hi, I’m Steve, a travel reviewer from Scotland. Join me on my adventures as I discover my own country, often visiting places for the first time, so hopefully it's as much of an eye-opener for you as it is for me! Don't expect expert opinion, just a very honest journey of discovery. Sometimes featuring my intrepid sidekick Alicja, sometimes featuring adventures beyond the borders of Scotland. Enjoy!

Apologies - audio is not great on this video. You can thank GoPro for that! I 'upgraded' to a GoPro11 but have had nothing but trouble with it, and GoPro make it as difficult as they can to resolve/return, so I do feel a bit ripped off by it. I'll persevere though and try to find an audio solution for this camera. But in the meantime, it'll be back to the GoPro8 for the next few videos I think! Cheers.

  • Hahahaha laughed so much at the putting the camera inside the room and walking back in gag! Drives me crazy when youtubers do that lol, thats why you’re the best travel youtuber!!
  • 410 quid one way is outrageous - no wonder they were able to comp this one, I'm amazed they sell it at all
  • I tried it last November down to London and it was a terrible experience, which made me regret not taking a mid-morning departure from Glasgow. Bed was uncomfortable, the room was tiny and I had to get pretty creative with stowing my luggage and there was no on-board hot food due to staffing shortages (hint, pay people a decent wage to work these things and you won't have staffing shortages). The Caledonian Sleeper has been something I'd wanted to try for a long time but the cost versus the experience just wasn't worth it in the end.

In my Big Corporate days I was a regular on the Cally Sleeper because the fare was usually cheaper than a flight and a hotel. Now the prices are so ridiculously high it’s difficult to justify the sleeper however much I love it. I would love to try the double room though! 🤔

Just cracking videos every time Steve! Cheers 👍

Many thanks for bringing us along on what looked like it was a nice way to travel. Quite different from when I used the Kings Cross to Aberdeen sleeper in the late 1950s or early 1960s.
  • I love traveling by rail and have done a trip on the Cornish Riviera that was marvelous., next time I am in the UK I want to do the Caledonian Sleeper so fingers crossed. Thank you both for taking me along as always your videos are very well done and a joy to watch. Take care and stay safe. Cheers.
  • Thanks Steve you both enjoyed as allways thanks a smooth journey yous had I glad too see

Alicja going "oooh" at 9:50 when the window lights switched on as if it were some kind of magical spell is adorable.

Great vid Steve, laughed at the bit where you jokingly walked back in the room - hate when YouTubers do that! Along with no click bait or shocked face thumbnails…is why you are the YT🐐
