    Several situations, you're right, including job, friends, and adult children. All I want to do is shut down and push them away, far away. The pain goes away immediately when I do that, doesn't it? The thing is, like you said, "... you wouldn't have the new [way] if you liked the old way..." I want things to work out. My new strategies are working, but like new shoes, I'm having to break them in. The old shoes are more comfortable but less pretty and no longer useful for the long haul.

    Only the last several years did love become painful and fell apart! It’s ok though. It happened due to growth so it’s a good thing!

    Thanks Ali, indeed I've worn myself out with trying to keep up with too much so my enthusiasm and energy are a bit mixed up, I'm very fit and not a spring chicken by any means, but it's time to rest and relax before choosing a healthier pace. Xx
