Mexico has an amazing focus tree if we're talking about "decision making" for your nation, you have to decide a path and cycle between focuses to avoid 3 civil wars and slowly "fix" the nation with focuses that have meaning and kinda make sense. The focus also gives you the oportunity to ally USA, Germany, the USSR or Britain despite their or your ideology. But the main issue is that those focuses are pretty limited about making Mexico stronger if you're not either communist or the F ideology in that RT56 mod due to locking the "expansionists" focuses if you aren't one of those 2 ideologies. In vanilla HoI 4 you can be ANY ideology and do those focuses that allow you to have justifications against centeramerica, south america, the caribbean and USA (with their integration). What I don't like about the focus tree and the main reason that you can't do much with México in multiplayer is that it takes SOOO LONG to finish essential focuses to get to the ones that matter the most. Most of their focuses are 70 days long, it takes too much time to get to the lower branch of the focus tree and due to the inminent civil wars it also takes time to take those research slots due to the fact that you have to time the focus tree with the civil wars countdowns to either lower the tensions of caudillos or get rid of the cristero war or the second mexican revolution (atheists/communists). Television innovators, a focus that gives you a research slot takes up to 120 days. I am crazy enough to tell you that I have more than 1,000 hours as mexico. I agree that you can't do much as Mexico compared to some south american nations, north american and some european minors but with enough experience you can pull off some mannouvers like a good intervention in the pacific, a good defense on africa or... if you're crazy like me, a surprise invasion through Vladivostok. I didn't expect Tommy to play as México in an MP game, I am really happy that he tried my nation. What I usually do is to rush against my neighbours so they don't get too strong, I recomend that if you're NOT PLAYING road to 56 mod, you do the following focus tree order: [Plan of Agua Prieta -> Jefe Máximo (to get rid of the PP debuff ASAP) -> Ban Political Militias (To lower caudillos CW tension) -> Revolutionary Women -> Soldaderas -> (If spain goes nationalist) Spanish Civil War Refugees -> Falangist Veterans (To get land doctrines buffs and more) -> Hispanic Alliance -> Coastal Defense Plan -> National Bank -> Liberalize the Banking Sector (To begin lowering the already high tensions with cedillo) -> End Land Reform -> March Southwards (To rush center america and have an easy invasion to either colombia or the caribbean) -> Unify Centroamérica -> Integrate the South (to integrate centeramerica) -> Privatization -> Caudillos Private Armies -> Support General Cedillo -> Liberate the Caribbean -> Integrate the Caribbean -> Push Past the Darién Gap -> Andean Offensive. The rest of the focuses are up to you, if you noticed there is no need in turning red, orange or blue. You can stay non aligned and earn lots of PP without losing plutarco elias calles with elections and more. I am glad that TommyKay played my nation, it was awesome. I hope he does that again someday.
