Taken From Blue Planet II
This bold cinematic experience takes viewers on a magical adventure across the greatest, yet least known, parts of our planet – our oceans. Since Blue Planet aired in 2001, our understanding of life beneath the waves has completely changed. Travelling from the icy polar seas to the vibrant blues of the coral atolls, this series shares these astonishing new discoveries. Meet the strange octopuses lurking in the depths of the Antarctic Ocean. Watch giant trevally fish leap to catch birds in mid-air. And ride on the back of a hammerhead shark as it attacks. Inspiring awe and wonder, Blue Planet II reveals surprising new places, charismatic new characters and extraordinary new behaviours.

This little male cuttlefish deserves his own romance drama series
  • @cortster12
I love how the little male camouflaged to look like the coral and rock under him once he got to the female, trying to trick the bigger male even more.

Goliath: "I've been tricked, backstabbed and quite likely, bamboozled"

There's catfished and then there's cuttlefished
  • Little men was lucky twice, got the girl and Goliath didn’t mate with him.

I can't even imagine how hard it was to film an opportunity like this. cuttle fish is like a painting by an artist.....
  • @Uliburgh22
Cuttlefishes communicate through colour bands on their skin. Imagine being a colourblind cuttlefish and not knowing what others are saying
  • Goliath be like: “Damn, he do look pretty submissive and breedable tho.”

I love the fact that cuttlefish crossdressing is a survival tool
  • @robertlembo

"Its not all about size" What an inspiring moment of a cuttlefish

Probably the best 10 minutes out of hundreds of hours of dives I've spent was with 2 cuttle fish. They approached, retreated, stopped dead, sped away instantly, changed colour continually...they were beautiful and entertaining. Definitely a highlight...

At least they are respectful to the white stripe. Not like dolphins, otters or seals 🤦‍♀️

The ocean is teeming with the most fascinating and incredible creatures on this planet. I was amused that the male cuttlefish, upon seeing the white stripe along the female’s side, remained a “gentleman” and made no further “advances” to her. 😅
