Fasting can be very beneficial, but don't do it haphazardly.
While most healthy people should in most cases be able to do a 7 day fast, it's probably better to start out with some shorter fasts first.
Abraham has some experience with fasting - he had done a 3 day fast before and has tried keto and intermittent fasting.

  • I think the biggest benefit of fasting is that it changes your relationship with food. You understand you don't need to eat as much or as often and you'll be just fine.

Just completed a 15 water fast. 32lbs loss, it was definitely something. Taught me I didn’t actually like food, I’m just addicted to sugar, oil and salt. New paradigm shift for sure. Also made me realize how much little food I actually needed before being full, which makes me very conscious of what I’m putting in my body. I don’t have to always clean my plate, leave it for another meal to be.
  • I'm on day 6. I struggled terribly on day 4 as well. Went and bought some 1000mg potassium supplements and immediately took 5. I slept like a baby, and on day 5 took 2 in the morning and 3 on the evening. Again slept really well and now on day 6 I feel great. Muscle issues were gone, brain fog gone amd energy levels back up. And I feel really tranquil.
  • Love this I been doing 24 hours fasting then I'm still doing 48 hours fasting 2 hours EATTING then back at 48 hours of fasting again I feel amazing 2 inches off my belly in 1 week ! I'm going to keep doing this next 14 days

Day 9 - 22lbs down /9Kgs. I never knew all I had to do to loose weight was stop eating. I’ve got no more pain in my knees, no longer snore and always wake up at 3:30am 😮

Could you make a video about noise affecting health? Ambient noise in cities are often seen as just minor inconveniences, however there is research it actually has a big impact on health, for example stress levels. Not only does it affect the body, it also affects our behaviour, in an environment with higher noise levels people are more likely to end conversations prematurely, be less patient, less generous, to name a few. The book "Curbing Traffic" has a chapter about the health impacts of noise pollution, but you are an expert on going through research and distilling them into awesome videos, big thank you for your work!

I am just about to complete a 10 day’s fasting!!! Feel amazing .

usually within the first day you feel your skin healing at a really fast rate. Interestingly enough on day 4ish I get a HUGE burst of energy, I feel like I can do way more pushups than I usually do. The euphoria you get on day 7 when waking up is INSANE

Just finished my 7 days fast and planning to extend it. One thing helped more is drinking warm water. Fasting make your body goes to rest and can get cold easily. Drinking warm water give an illusion to my body that I’m still producing heat. Every type of body is different so do what the best when you’re fasting :D

I did a 100 hour fast after watching one of your other vids on fasting a couple months ago. I still feel like I have a reduced appetite from it, now maintaining 180 lbs down from 200 lbs when i started it
  • @hannahwollenzin50
This gave me more motivation to try my first 36 hour fast! I've been doing IF for a few years now but nothing longer than 24 hours. But I think I'm ready!
  • @jennacitrus
What was the lowest your blood sugar was? I’m on day three and down to 59, trying to decide if I should stop.
  • @munchia-
I recently went through an involuntary fast(because I was going through something mentally) and I will say the 2-3 days that I didn't eat really did seem like it reset my appetite, hunger, and cravings as you said. It actually blew my mind how much it helped me. I actually feel like I have control now of what I eat, when I eat and how much of what I eat.
  • @amaiamor8111
As someone’s who has daily panic attacks I look forward to seeing a change
  • @Higher_human1
This video is everything. So many videos of people just rambling about their experiences fasting with no real tracked results. Thanks for putting so much detail into the actual scientific benefits
  • @abegil
This was fun! Thanks for letting me be a data point. I will be doing another long fast soon. :)
  • @racegts
Started the keto diet three years ago and lost 50 pounds in 60 days and then over the next three years of cheating and indulging on sugary snacks gained 25 pounds back. I constantly do intermittent fasting and once in a while 24, 48 and 72 hours; this time I did 14 days with nothing but water, green tea and electrolyte supplements. At the end of 14 days I had lost 26 pounds, still engaged in exercise and a daily 10 hour work schedule. FASTING WORKS!!!!!

From my experience when you are fasting you are detoxifying, your cells are repairing, your immune system is resetting, etc. etc. So actually during this fasting time I usually feel like crap. BUT, once I finish the fast this is when I feel the full benefits of all the healing that went on during the fast, not while I fast. 👍🏼
