The film is directed by Niki Caro from a screenplay by Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver and Elizabeth Martin & Lauren Hynek based on the narrative poem “The Ballad of Mulan.”

My parents only had two children, my sister and I. When I was younger, I asked my dad if he ever wanted a boy. He looked me in the eye with the kindest smile and said "The greatest gift I've ever received is being blessed with two incredible daughters." The father's line in this trailer gets me every time.

What made me love the original Mulan as a child and even now as an adult was that she had to start from scratch, she trained and persevered through it all. This one is different, apparently she was born with it. Gifted with all the skills from the very beginning. Cant relate unfortunately.

I was trying to think of recent trailers I considered amazing and all I could think of was Mulan. This is such a beautiful trailer showing the story of Mulan joining the army to save her dad. "I am blessed with two daughters". As well as the epic version of "reflection". Simply beautiful.
