the columbia protests in 1968 literally took over several buildings. some students were armed. to imply that these protests have been violent, while claiming the vietnam protests were peaceful is ahistorical.

Msnbc is on the wrong side of history, totally ignoring it.

“Civil disobedience becomes a sacred duty when the state becomes lawless and corrupt.” – Mahatma Gandhi “Disobedience is the true foundation of Liberty. The obedient must be slaves.” – Henry David Thoreau “You don't stand for something; you'll fall for anything." – Alexander Hamilton

Sorry Doris, I went to Kent State at the time of the shooting. You obviously either forgot or have a touch of dementia. The ROTC building was burned down on campus for one. Classes, including mine were disrupted and canceled because students came into our class rooms and sang sons and shouted down our professor who was trying to teach. It was a mess. Then I was watching the demonstrators charging the National Guard and throwing objects at them. I saw violence with my own eyes. Sorry Doris.

The US just has to follow its own laws about weapons transfers. They have control over that.

It's funny in 2020 MSNBC was praising the protesters because Trump was President. Now it's hurting Biden they're begging them to stop 😂😂

The obvious unasked question of figures like Goodwin of course is where are your blind spots? She has many.

The 1960s student protesters didn’t ask for student loan forgiveness after they protested.

The establishment people always say "its different this time. This time the antiwar protests are not good like those back in the day. During thebiraq war they were saying the same thing. All the same, history views genocide as very bad and inexcusable. This genocide will be seen as the same as the others. Ten thousand kids blown up. Seriously.

I watched this YouTube video. The interviewer mentioned the current college protests, but the book author DID NOT. So this video's caption is misleading and incorrect.

Kearns is brilliant on the protests of the 60's. She is totally banal and useless discussing the protests today.

As long as we live with social media as our primary informational medium, polarization will define our politics
