One of my biggest mistakes was buying items that are too similar. I'll just end up wearing the "better" one all the time while the other one gathers dust in the back of the closet. An example is jeans with a very similar wash and fit. Or a leather jacket in a similar material and fit. One of the two will fit and look better and I'll regret buying the other.
  • Don’t normally comment, but want to say love the content. Some of these other fashion channels are a bit over the top and just bounce from trend to trend. I love your approach of investing in a classic wardrobe so you can put together outfits to match the occasion. Keep up the good work

My best tip to avoid impulse buys you regret is browse when you don't have money. Give yourself a couple of days - a week to think about whatever you want before you can actually buy it. I guess it's kind of the same as making a wishlist, a wishlist just doesn't work as well for me because I'm rarely after specific items. I'm more like "I need a blue sweatshirt" and then I'll just browse for that until I find the one I like most and buy that. Leads in to, don't get too attached to specific pieces. You just gets sad when it's sold out or don't live up to the dreams of how great it would be you had. Figure out what you need for your wardrobe by category and not by specific pieces. For example a blue sweatshirt.. There's probably 100's of nice blue sweatshirts out there. No reason to get overly attached to one. The same with brands. There's a bunch of brands I'd like to own something from, but don't just buy whatever because it's that brand. Figure out what you really want from that brand. And if you don't get the item, it wasn't meant to be. It's just clothes.

Great video again. Me and my girlfriend call sunday “Harry Has day” since we watch your videos regularly together. And we always say “see ya later” with you at the end of the video. We also really wish your videos were longer like 10+ minutes. We love you and see ya later 🖤

I do the wish list method. I end up deleting things from it more often than buying! It’s great for ideas for my wife when my birthday and Christmas come round 😊

Some bang on point here mate and ones I am definitely guilty of haha! I'm definitely due a huge wardrobe de-clutter.. Goodbyes are needed 😂! Great video as usual brother 🙌🏽!
  • I absolutely needed this video, for the longest time I’ve felt like my style and type of clothing just didn’t compliment eachother and now I feel a whole new mindset running through my head. Thank you❤

Great video! My problem with the first technique is that I fall in love with a piece and want to take the time to think about it, but get worried that it will sell out and will not come back (which has seriously bummed me out before). Gets me every time
  • It's a pretty good idea to have a list indeed, especially whenever there is no "immediate" match with a specific item (I experienced it a lot with sneakers 😅)

Dude! Your video was godsend. This was me last week. My biggest mistake was that most of my clothes are sports related and the loud colors you referred to. Thanks for the video.

Excellent advice. I also do a wishlist and am always crossing stuff out that I realize I actually don’t need/like later. And for buying backups, our sizing can change all the time is another reason not to do this for pricey items. The jeans I fit 2 years ago don’t fit me now and the dupe I had would be useless to me
  • thank you for your kindness, honesty, and organization, your advice is such important for youngsters like me who don't have a clue about anything. don't have money to donate and will definitely like, share, and keep updating your videos. Stay well!

That wishlist idea is pretty good! I should start one since I've been eyeing some items that I just want to buy right off first glance. Appreciate the tip.
  • Great video. Down-to-earth,reasonable contents and inputs on the topic. Really cleared things up a little about my shopping habits.
  • @Lasturner
Great video Harry as always 👍 I screenshot items of clothing that I fancy at the time so I can come back to them at a later date to see if I still feel the same urge. It is a great tip for saving the penny's. The worst habit I have when buying clothing I love is not wearing them in fear of ruining the item, then eventually going off the piece or finding something els. Terrible habit I know but hard to break.

I'm doing a complete wardrobe overhaul in about a month and your channel has really helped me think of what I want to change. Thank you for your videos!
  • I don’t normally comment, even if i am old subscriber, but your content is very conscious driven and mindful about every aspect. Thank you and keep the good work
  • I like your simple and minimimal approach of choosing neutral color especially black and white. This two color minimizes any kind of impulse buying and one buys things only when it's absolutely necessary.
