Getting ready to have my LBZ Allison transmission rebuilt. Gonna have it beefed up. I'm getting ready to tune my LBZ. Right now she's bone stock. Doing a full EGR delete too.

Great tutorial Josh! Quick tidbit I’ll share comparing the size difference of the LLY and LBZ turbo. I have read that GM engineers made the decision to downsize the turbo starting in 2006 based around the introduction of the six speed Allison transmission with the overdrive. I am assuming testing showed the smaller 60.5/64 was more efficient at highway cruising speed’s while towing at slightly lower RPMs. Remember, they were engineering for high torque and low EGT’s over a broad range of speed for towing and every day applications, while trying to stay in compliance with the gestapo and their new emissions standards.
