What happened to DOGDAY?!
Dogday is one of the Smiling Critters from Poppy Playtime Chapter 3: Deep Sleep (created by Mob Entertainment). He’s a giant toy dog who was captured by Catnap and imprisoned in a jail cell… and his legs were tragically ripped off. His design and scene in the game is pretty creepy and insane, so after making our DIY animatronic Catnap, we knew a hanging Dog Day animatronic had to be next.
We started by making some fake walls in the style of theatrical flats to act as his jail cell. His frame was made of steel and powered by pneumatics, thanks to the help of Hallucinations Creations who make amazing pneumatic animatronic mechs for the haunted house industry. We used wire, duct tape, and foam to make the shape of his body and covered the whole thing in shaggy fur. His head was custom 3D modeled and 3D printed. The whole thing was animated with a prop controller from Purgatory Props.
We love how our real life DogDay turned out! He’s an awesome pneumatic prop and he's going to make the perfect companion to our growing collection of custom Halloween animatronics like our Catnap, Huggy Wuggy and Springtrap animatronics. Who do you want to see us make next? And where do we put this giant prop now?!

Miss delight being able to “walk” (being able to move forward with the help of an animatronic arm) would look sick with her running animation

Okay, the fact that you contacted Mob Entertainment to ask about DogDay's sun pendant on his zipper and they responded saying that it was a little oopsie that it wasn't there during the jail cell scene is absolutely crazy. Other than that, DogDay looks absolutely AMAZING. I would love to be standing next to that animatronic.

THIS IS SO COOL!! I'm just so bewildered you guys are able to make a character from a video game come to life so perfectly and teach us throughout the entire process! You guys really captured DogDay's spookiness as well, as if you just pulled him straight from the game into your garage! This animatronic is SO AMAZING!!!

It's really funny how many characters are designed with huge obvious zippers on them when in reality they are designed not to be that noticeable.
