Was 18 when this movie released. Watched this movie on the last day of my HSC board exams in 1994. Nearly 30 years. Got the cassette and played the songs non stop for a week. I remember the lyrics to the song to this day.

Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naan was definitely one of SRK career best romantic films ever and it definitely was one of the best romantic films ever in Indian Cinema with one of the finest soundtracks ever in Bollywood This movie is such a underrated romantic gem which truly showcased the perfect portayal of teenage love with no Vulgarity only pure love definitely in my opinion one of SRK best movies ever in his filmography

Shahrukh played the role of a loser in this movie. A loser who is neither the brightest student, nor a handsome hunk, nor a success in any other field. He resorts to lying to get the girl he wants, and yet fails. He fools his parents by forging a fake marksheet. He is full of flaws. Despite all his flaws, his character had a heart of gold. Even after successfully forging a marksheet, he feels guilty of fooling his loved ones, and comes clean, in front of the entire party. One of the most emotional songs : Woh to hai albela. Despite the girl agreeing to marry him, he sacrifices his love because he knows he is only a friend, and her true love is someone else. And despite looking completely worthless, he has one talent - his music. When he plays his music, he pours his heart out. Shahrukh played the role of this vulnerable, flawed loser with such charm, that everyone rooted for him. We all could relate to his character Sunil, and that is why we all smiled whenever he succeeded in his shenanigans, and cried with him whenever he had a heartbreak. We all forgot it is Shahrukh. We all identified with the character Sunil, because we felt it was us. His character gave us hope you could be written down by the world, but still you could live the life and embrace all its joys and heartbreaks. We all were Sunils
