Malea Tribble and her husband, Rickey Tribble, were participating in a paddle board relay race when a hammerhead shark emerged from the water, trailing Malea's paddle board.

After hopping on the boat, they regrouped and decided to continue the race once the shark left. Malea said she plans to race against next year as it helps raise awareness and funds for people with cystic fibrosis.

  • @theriskid
In life, you don't have to be the fastest... just faster than Gabe.
  • I like how she whispers “shark” to Gabe as to not let the shark know they are aware of his whereabouts lol
  • @thealladin
Gabe like “ I didn’t even want to do this shit but she kept saying I’m not adventurous enough”😂😂
  • @HappyEddyMcGuire
Friends with great awareness vs friends that get you killed. I'll take this crew.

Great job to the man who was calmly talking to her and not telling her too many details so it didn’t freak her out. That was scary!!!😱

GABE...Three people should not have to call you THAT many times while you sitting on a board in the middle of the ocean! Wake tf up! 😂

Man, good to see people follow directions instead of panicking. Also, there are lots of land sports you may enjoy.

gabe knew that hammerheads have the best perceptive abilities of any shark, so attacks are extremely rare because of this
  • @nishavis
This is perfect. Her friends did not panic her by telling her about the shark until she was in the boat. Well done.
  • The shark was jus curious 😅 Like, " watcha doin all the way out here."

"Gabe stay there" "Nah I'm getting on that boat homie"
  • She whispered and used hand signals like she trying to keep a secret from the shark… 🤣
  • @elementneon
Hammerheads are normally really elusive and extremely rarely ever get involved with humans.
  • @akawater
Thank goodness someone was out there watching for the racers.
