Hi friends! WOWWWWW wow wow wow. This was a very challenging time for me. Enduring a health crisis and my father's passing while painting an amazingly, epic outdoor mural was...a roller coaster. Truthfully, this video was difficult for me to edit as well. I wanted the focus of the video to be about the mural and the process, but you know I always let y'all in on what is happening in my life. Regardless, I hope you enjoy seeing me paint another outdoor mural.

I thought I was just watching a video about an artist painting a mural and it turned out to be about pushing through the adversity of chronic illness and grief. I'm sorry for the loss of your father. Thank you for being vulnerable and sharing your journey with us. My favorite part of the mural is the leopard print design.

The preparation that does into a mural is more extensive than I could ever have imagined. I am so happy that you had an outlet while dealing with the loss of your father so you didn’t have to be stuck in your grief (hope that makes sense). Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.

GREAT 👍 ART MURAL, FIONA! 🤩 Really enjoy your beautiful style of abstract floral design. We appreciate how difficult it must have been when your father was sick, and then passed away. Rest-in-Peace Colin Clark. 🙏

sorry for your loss 😢 public art always brightens up an area 😀 the mural turned out great!
  • I agree with your words at the end of Day 5. How your father would be happy. He was probably looking down while you were finishing up the mural and it turned out so beautiful! I found myself tearing up with the messages of when he passed and the photo that you shared as well.

Your mural is amazing...I just wept when you were talking about your dear dad the day before he passed. You deserved all those lovely comments from the passerbys, sure your dad would be so proud of you.
  • Thank you for sharing your process it turned out amazing! I always wonder how the backend process happens with the client in terms of pricing and preparing paints and hidden costs of a project like this. Would love to see more of that side to the process!
  • IT looks beautiful and well worth the effort sorry to hear about your dad my husband is in the last stages of his cancer too I know how hard it is
  • I’m so sorry for your loss, I hope you’ve had some time for healing and reflection. I’m sure working and creating during this time was hard but I can completely understand the need to do something and have purpose. I’m sure your dad was with you and so very proud♥️Thank you for sharing the process of making this beautiful mural🌸

I know it’s been a year since you posted your mural blog. I throughly enjoyed it. Your word is so playful and sunny. So sorry to hear of your fathers passing. I am currently going through chemo for stage 3c cancer and this brought joy just to watch. My prayers for your own health struggles!

I enjoyed following your mural journey on Instagram. Quite an undertaking!! Lots of time creating and thinking I’m sure. The joy of creating beauty in the midst of your sadness makes this a real gift of the heart. Beautiful results!

I am so proud of you. This has been such a big goal of yours that you have reached! I am so sorry this memory will forever be tied to such deep sadness, and I am also glad that forever your dad will be part of this moment of accomplishment and celebration. He was so proud of you and he will be part of this and part of you forever. I hope one day we can tackle a project like this together 😄. Thank you for sharing this process and taking us along this adventure.

Fiona my deepest condolences on your and your families lost....i empathize with your joyful time but dealing also with great sadness at same time, i was in a similar situation 18 years ago just adopted our daughter and my dad had past away one week later so i was on a emotional rollercoaster for a soild year after he past away i like to think that god gave me my daughter as something tangibleto immerse my self in to offset the lose of my dad who was a intergral part of my life... my mother in law past away from cancer just this past sunday she was 60ish and she live her life her way also and was a retired police officer she became a police officer in her late thirties/40ish, i was proud of her she ran circles around younger guys during training.. your mural is so beautiful i hope someday i can get my picture taken in front of it...also are you gonna take photo of it and sell?? Id like one if you do decide to do a print version of this mural.... just a idea at xmas time you should do a small calander of your paintings to sell....Id title this mural:. dads love.....many art blessings of compassion kindness empathy and love ....your mural is beautiful i like all of it the most is the signs( different symbols) areas the colors fade a little bit it and i like that look as you can see the color blue behind the symbols and other existing background colors it makes you look a bit longer in those symbol areas, i like the textures of the paint lines also how the paint is thick in one area but another area it is thinner does that make sense? Its multi facet yumminess to look at with the counterbalances of lines curves circles dots and the color combinations.... it make me smile and it inspires me to do my freestyle mandalas dotting on rocks ...mikelle art mom 🎨👩‍🎨✍
