Ah, Stranger in Paradise. A game where it's not so much about the destination, but the journey and the Fiends we made along the way.
  • @Guerin78
My favorite detail of this: all four main characters have names short enough to fit into the four-character limit of the original NES FF1.
  • This game was definitely better than most thought it was. The combat was brilliant, and I personally loved how it interacted with Dissidia: Opera Omnia with the Moogle and Mannikins
  • @ThePageofVoid
I never realised how intrinsically tied to Dissidia SoP was. I may have to buy and play this now

I played through Stranger of Paradise a few days ago and the story to me is quite tragic. I liked all the characters and the plot twist at the end was so intriguing

Favorite game of 2022, honestly, I don't know why but this game is just too freaking fun and funny. From Jack being so single mindedly simple to the fun gameplay loop imo. I will always remember this game fondly despite some of the issues I've had recently
  • It's wild to me that the Bahamut from Final Fantasy XV's goddamn cancelled DLC novelization is canonically the same one from FF1.

😂😂 * turns around and walks away aggressively while turning on Spotify to MAX volume. * I got the best song for my feelings rn. They better think of me when they hear it.

Don't sleep on this game. Not only is it co-op fun, but compared to FF16, it has much better combat, level design, customization, replayability, music (imo) and a better main character (and memes) in Jack Garland. :_bmFire:

Like many, I kind of rejected this game. Surprised how good the story is. I like how it’s a challenging game too. I may put it on my backlog! Love Oni’s videos. Perfection every time.
  • @kaspauf06
Love these videos but absolutely love how this ties back to the original FF!

I want a Stranger of Paradise 2. This game and character were so fun. And the amount of builds is really good. Too bad it all end in like kill in 3 secs builds.

Glad to see another video from you. Keep up the great work. Thank you! ❤

Well since the Emperor has already been done, Jack's story came to a close, Exdeath and Cloud of Darkness are literally forces of nature, Xande isn't all that interesting, Kefka's descent into madness was already shown and Sephiroth's origin has already been explored via Ever Crisis and Crisis Core, I think it would make sense for Golbez or Kuja to be the next in line, or Ultimecia. I think Golbez could be interesting if they detail his initial encounter with Zemus, or Kuja's story taking place before Zidane was hatched, Ultimecia I think would be the most interesting bc we would get to see her timeline, how she came to power, and how she's able to throw her consciousness through time. I imagine an Ultimecia game would be heavily magic focused. Then there's the likes of Seymour, Jecht, Gabranth, Vayne, Caius and Ardyn. We've already seen and played through Ardyn's origin, Caius' origin is explained through cutscenes, Vayne could be interesting but I would rather see Gabranth during his time as a soldier in his homeland fighting alongside Basch, Seymour and Jecht's journies feel too FFX-0-ish and I don't think either would add to the Spira games in any meaningful way. But that's just my opinion
  • So close to the big 100K Oni! Anyhow, I'm happy to see you covering this one. It's one of the more interesting games I've played in the last few years. Originally skeptical of its premise, I found its design and story really interesting. I'm not sure if it works as a true "prequel", but it is interesting enough that I find myself wanting more. I would love to see FF1 remade based on this. Great video as always!

Thank you so much for creating this! Great video. Like most final fantasy's I need videos like this to fully understand.

I like the idea of the Warrior of Light, this stoic, peaceful, beacon of all things Holy, started out as Jack, the ANGRIEST FF protagonist! That's some character development!
