U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand was in Cicero Friday to introduce her new bill with bipartisan support, the Providing Child Care for Police Officers Act of 2024.

It would establish a grant pilot program for child care for law enforcement officers, with $24 million in federal funding for each of the next five fiscal years for child care services.

Ridiculous. So now we’re going to pick groups of people, to give childcare to, paid for by other taxpayers, who are in the same boat? And what about people, who don’t have children? Why are the childless individuals always forking out money for other peoples kids? That is especially true, if you’re single and childless, you pay a good chunk in taxes.
