I always tell people, when shtf happens avoid all conflict, survive, and find the good people. It’s not a video game and we will probably end up refugees.

If you get hit by a Hornady Critical defense 410 shell within 20 feet, you will be dead.

Low capacity is over criticized IMO. Outside of .gov door kickers who is going to keep coming after you unleash 5 rounds of 00? Having 5 in the gun and another 5-6 on the gun will solve 99.98 % of your problems. SG is for inside my home, or immediate area. If fighting in the streets, no I’d take a rifle.

🇦🇺😎👍Pump action shotguns were outlawed in Australia in 1997 along with all other semiautomatics . Handguns are available in semiautomatic but they are heavily regulated .

Winchester SXP with a Nordic components +1 tube is an underrated setup. Such a smooth and fast action.

Great points in your video. It is a great "all-around" weapon if you're going to be staying home in SHTF for hunting, etc... Definitely not a primary weapon. We live way out in the country on acreage and have family all around us, so we are lucky in that capacity. It wouldn't be the best weapon for bug-out or carrying on foot, for sure. You never know where you will be when SHTF, so I have a couple of options in my truck to get me back home in case I am in town when it happens. A pistol and a 22 rifle. Honestly, the 22 is mostly in case I want to stop and shoot some ground squirrels on the way home, LOL! But it would due as back-up to get me home as well. My primary weapons at home are along the lines of AR's and AK's. I want to put a little talk about the 410 bore. I know it doesn't even compare to the 12 or 20 gauge, but it does have its place. My mother-in-law is 80 years old. The 12 is just too much for her any more. So I bought her a 410 and my wife a 410. To demonstrate how they actually are pretty good, I froze a bunch of gallon size milk jugs. We were at ten paces, the average length of a hallway or good sized living room. We started with the bird shot, then the pellets (one of them had three pellets and one had 9) and then the slugs. The damage was more devastating than I thought they would do.

Even AA skeet loads when shot at typical room or hallway distances will be devistating. Due to the short range, the #8 pellets will not seperate from the shot cup, resulting with the wad and pellets entering the "target" through a single entry wound.

I have a question for the Mossberg What sling do you recommend for the Mossberg Maverick 88?
  • @terryroper4848
In a fire team a shotgun is an excellent choice. It provides unique applications needed in many areas. By yourself however, carry a rifle.

You forgot another pro Drones will most likely be used to drop improvised explosive or to gather intel a shot gun is really good at disabling pesky drones. You see this being used over in Ukraine Also against body armor they can be very useful especially standing further back due to spread
  • @subdawg1331
well as you said depends of what you have... bu as some have stated for defence one the best choices ... I have an assortment of scatter guns ... yes of course a rifle too... but my main truck and home guns are 870's
  • @jw5297
Agreed shotty doesn't make the weapons list for SHTF, it is on a tool list. hunting but so is a bow and arrows, fighting, no, can it be used absolutely, can be down right surgical with one, but thats very application specific
  • Personally, I'm not big on shotguns. But unfortunately, I live in Illinois, a state with extremely restrictive gun laws. Semi auto long guns are heavily restricted here, with the most useful rifles like ARs and (my preference) AKs being outright banned. Manual operation weapons like bolt, lever and pump actions aren't restricted, so I went with a Mossberg Maverick 88.
