Animation history in The Simpsons universe is similar to our own. This is a sequence of Itchy & Scratchy episodes that reflect that history.

I love the way Millhouse doesn't finish the subtitles and groans. One of the all time greatest episodes with the late great Kirk Douglas.

I'm not sure if that was intentional or not, but the friendly Itchy and Scratchy are creepier than the violent versions.

0:55 It's a subtle nice touch that the border around each of the credits in the Chester J. Lampwick cartoon is a little bit different, and they're all slightly uneven, as if each one was drawn individually by hand — it makes it feel more like an authentic cartoon from 1919.

That hacking scene in Scratchtasia is so insanely violent.
  • Millhouse's dissapointment in not reading quickly enough is amazing
  • I love how Simpsons always stated that Jerry was really evil and the cartoon making sadistic stuff as funny for kids.

"Roger Meyers Sr., the gentle genius behind Itchy and Scratchy, loved and cared about almost all the peoples of the world." This is lowkey a hilarious dig at Walt Disney. 🤣🤣

I always saw Itchy and Scratchy as an over the top way to illustrate what a jerk Jerry from Tom and Jerry was.
  • the episode when they are actually peaceful just makes me think "they're high as fuck"

"Find me a 70 year old projector, and we can play it (Manhattan Madness)." Cue Springfield Elementary School.

"Refrain from tasting the knob", best advice since "do not touch Willie"
