Now whether or not Louis' Lunch invented the hamburger or not, it is still one of the most famous restaurants in New Haven and therefore one of the most famous restaurants in Connecticut and one that is also somewhat commutable from New York City. We drove up from New Jersey to answer the question of is Louis' Lunch good or is Louis' Lunch overrated? Or are the open flame cooked Louis' Lunch burgers truly divine and a work of art?
We semi road-tripped to New Haven to check out this New Haven haunt and one of the best restaurants near Yale University. Will it live up to the hype?

This was the 100th episode of UA Eats! The timing couldn't be better right before Thanksgiving. Thank you all so much for watching my videos and the role you all play in growing the channel. I'm a one-man show so it can be hectic at times, but your support makes it all worth it. Happy Thanksgiving!

I asked my friend to describe the burger. He said “it definitely tastes like it was someone’s first time making a burger” 😂
-
These burgers look like something I do at 3:45am Drunk.

Raw cow in toasted wonder bread, I'm amazed this place hasn't been condemned.
-
50-year butcher. As long as the sourcing and handling of the beef is top notch and sanitation is spot on, the ground meat can be treated like a regular steak without a lot of concern.
-
Reminds me of the burgers my grandmother used to make me as a kid. I wouldn't wait 45 mins for this.
-
I've seen a ton of videos on Louis Lunch. People always twist themselves into knots to avoid just saying it wasn't good 😂
-
"So fresh that it hasn't been cooked much" I almost spit my coffee out laughing.
-
Half hour to grill and its still raw?

Looks like they changed the cooking process. They used to put the onion on the patty, then close the basket and cook. That definitely added flavor. The onion was charred and the onion flavor cooked into the burger. I was never served a burger that raw there. I haven't been there in years. I think you may have saved me a trip. One vital piece of information you forgot to mention.... No ketchup, or any condiments in the building period.

The cook using the same glove For the raw meat and the cooked burger was a nice touch. On another note, I really love your videos. Keep up the good work

What I dont understand is why the fuck would it take over 30 minutes to cook these burgers and they come out that rare...unfcuking real.
-
People always say that this is the first place to serve a hamburger. But I rarely hear people say this is one of the best places to get a burger. I think more people go for the history, and the fact that they were the first burger place.
-
The absolute balls on these people to kick you out for asking for ketchup yet dousing their shitty sandwich burgers in cheese wiz is utterly ridiculous
-
I can respect that this is an honest review at the same time respect that the restaurant kept it original..we all obviously can agree that everything has evolved and gotten better throughout the years/decades…but he was 💯 ..it’s really about the experience of that era!! And I’m sure back in early 1900’s it was da bomb!!

Nice UA! When I was younger, a good friend moved from Queens to New Haven. So, I've had the opportunity to enjoy all of the City's offerings. Louis Lunch is epic, and because of it I'll often make burgers at home on toast. Definitely an old school classic that can't be denied!

Congratulations on your 100th episodes... i love your channel, i watch it after work... Edison New Jersey here

I think UA definitely has the potential to be a huge youtuber soon. His style is earnest and he is articulate. Could be a phenomenon someday

Thanks UA, happy Thanksgiving from Philadelphia!
