Now tell him to review indian action movies. He will lose his mind.
  • Well I've spent 27 years on the sofa and even I can tell you Commando was unrealistic.
  • @thalastianjorus
I'll admit that his breakdown of Blackhawk Down was intriguing. He spotted the "unrealistic" parts - which were, in fact, exactly what happened in real life. Going during the day, and right ontop of the target downtown. Precisely what caused the problems that day, and why Garrison took full responsibility.

10:08 John Steele was the name of the American paratrooper who was caught on the tower of Sainte-Mere-Eglise. He in fact survived, was made an honorary citizen of the village and continued to visit it throughout his life.
  • @jameson32
Arnold himself isn't even realistic. A bodybuilding action movie hero governor? Cmon.
  • @alhambra1
The Gordon Ramsay of military movies
  • @sullyfox4993
The rocket launcher Schwarzenegger uses in 'Commando' is a M202 Flash. It's a Vietnam-era rocket launcher designed to replace flame throwers, firing four incendiary rockets. It was essentially a mobile napalm cannon.

In my personal experience, I've found that the bigger the flame in an explosion, the weaker it is. Most of the IEDs, mortars, grenades, etc that I've seen go off have a minimal fireball if any. The forces are so powerful that it puts the fire out. Sometimes the explosions create secondary fires though. Movie explosions are so far off from the real thing. Also, if you're close enough to an explosion where it throws you away from it (every action film ever made) chances are you're dead. The concussive forces alone (without any shrapnel) will kill you. These forces will rock your brain and destroy your lungs.

The soldiers are hitting Arnold but they’re bouncing off of his muscles
  • "That's exactly as it is" "That's exactly as it is" "That's exactly as it is" 8 out of 10

Love how he roasts black hawk down during the accurate parts
  • This is very helpful to me as an actor, because more often than not the difference in realism and authenticity isn't directors and effects, but how well we actors can portray these characters without being overly dramatic while getting details like how to hold weapons and even wear our uniforms correctly. I remember shooting a scene for Daredevil, the series, the cops in the scene were real NYPD cops doing this as a side gig. So one of them asked the Director, "Should we have our guns out?" and the Director said, "Do what you would normally do in this situation." The guns came out; perfect action, entirely realistic.

  • I served in the infantry in the British army, not to the standard that Mark was, but like him, I watch war movies and always look for critical detail. Enjoyed this video.
  • I can’t wait for Insider to drop “Real Terrorist breaks down 11 terrorism scenes.”
  • Now please make this possible: real African Lion reviewing the Lion King Movie scene!!!
  • @esquad5406
For you that don't know the weapon that is in the Commando spots. It is the M-202A1. And it's use is very realistic. As the weapon is intended to set fire to it's target.
  • @Krust23
I love it. My two favorite movies listed both got the highest scores. This channel is so good.
