  • It’s a drainage issue, not a rain issue. Development changes the watershed. Now old neighborhoods flood because the new developments have been raised higher than the old ones. People are filling in the retention areas to put houses. Water has to pool somewhere.

I started a black mold removal business in southbeach 5 years ago and now I'm retired there is so much mold in FL we will never clean it up thank goodness for the lack of regulation that keeps these hotels open, every time the wind blows in miami my beach house in maine gets another cobble stone added. =]
  • Don’t these people in Florida realize that most of Florida will be underwater in the near future.
  • Maybe it's telling us to love and care for others. If a neighbor needs help, let's help him. As we don't know what is coming down the road!!
  • I lived there for a few years and glad I don't now. Florida is going back to be a swamp like it use to be

All stratospheric wind is traveling eastward, carrying lots of water vapor over the gulf right now. El Niño is still dominating north hemispheric weather conditions. 0% chance of any hurricanes. 100% chance of A LOT of rain and humid conditions. Lower, mid, and upper troposphere is loaded with water vapor. You want rain? Well here it is. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. Also... Careful what you wish for... you might get it.

I put a five gallon bucket on my roof before a storm in Florida. After the storm, it was full. The water shoots off one valley like a firehose during a bad one.
