Cyberpunked 2077 (Review)

Published 2020-12-29
Cyberpunk 2077 is a 2020 action role-playing video game developed and published by CD Projekt. The story takes place in Night City, an open world set in the Cyberpunk universe. Players assume the first-person perspective of a customizable mercenary known as V, who can acquire skills in hacking and machinery with options for melee and ranged combat.

The game was developed using the REDengine 4 by a team of around 500 people, exceeding the number that worked on the studio's previous game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (2015). CD Projekt launched a new division in Wrocław, Poland, and partnered with Digital Scapes, Nvidia, QLOC, and Jali Research to aid the production. Cyberpunk creator Mike Pondsmith was a consultant, and actor Keanu Reeves has a starring role. The original score was led by Marcin Przybyłowicz, featuring the contributions of several licensed artists.

CD Projekt released Cyberpunk 2077 for PlayStation 4, Stadia, Windows, and Xbox One on 10 December 2020, with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions planned to follow in 2021. It received praise for its narrative, setting, and graphics, although some of its game-play elements received mixed responses. In contrast, it was widely criticized for bugs, particularly in the console versions which also suffered from performance issues; Sony removed it from the PlayStation Store on 17 December 2020.

Tbh cyberpunk now is honestly one of my favorite games. I jumped on the train after 1.5 was released a month or 2 back and after crying through Edgerunners I got it on Xbox for 23 bucks on a sale. After a 100 hour Playthrough I fucking loved it. Never beat it tho just kinda dropped it mainly due to me being pissy about not getting the secret ending unlocked. Then when phantom liberty was already out and 2.1 was about to drop I bought it again. I recently got a better PC in November and holy shit before it was a 7.5/10. Now it’s a 8.5/10 and with mods it’s a 9/10. Redemption arc goes crazy

Good news is the game is finally in a state that was promised! It only took... over 10 years of development.
  • Dude i came here from the new vegas money vid just to abosrb more vids. Hoping this helps your channel grow. Youre the man dude

This is my favorite video game. Everything he address has been fixed. And its awasome. Thats said How does this guy have so few views? Advice is to make more videos on on specific games. Examples, i found you for fallout. So more fallout.
  • Man I hope you enjoy getting +1 views on every single one of your videos (more than that on the mass effect and fallout videos). Your videos rock! 🐧
  • Cyberman was great, if you think about it. The game is about cyberpunk and you get a bad product? Brilliant. I thought that the bugs were just in the players mind as our sanity became more and more fragile.

Pls make more vids. You’re like the only good channel around

2:27 I take issue with some of these games being recommended. The Outer Worlds was pretty shit, they recommend one of the Deus Ex sequel games over Deus Ex, only one of the character storylines in Detroit: Become Human was actually good, and a few other things.

This is so surreal... I played it on a notebook with a gtx 1080 and it was smooth. Apart from two "T-posing" characters and one bluescreen I had no issues in over 500 hours
  • Great review mate, might want to fix the typo in the title tho :P

To this day i have no idea how the bugs on release "worked" for people so differently. I've played this game on a decent-ish laptop. So by definition of "laptop" i've should've had every conceivable bug possible. And yet, i think the only thing i've got was - sometimes while driving distant cars were diving into the ground, never to be seen again. Am i just that lucky? Or the bugs were the results of different components of PC acting out? I will never know.

Cyberpunk spent a decade saying "it will be ready when it's ready." Turns out, that was a lie....
  • If it makes anyone feel better, it doesnt glitch like this on series x, but its still too fucked to play
  • This game played pretty well for me until they released the DLC. Since then, my game has been glitchy and laggy as fuck. So, while everyone is saying that "the game is fixed" and "perfect" now, I am experiencing the opposite. The game was perfect for me... until they released the DLC. I didn't need a supercomputer before the DLC. Now, apparently, I do.

I have a 1070ti (so almost the same) and I haven’t had too many issues. I’m kind of shocked tbh. I did have some glitches here and there but nothing that bad. I guess I just got lucky. As for the non technical issues I 100% agree. What a gong show.
