Technically Kazuya is the main protagonists of the first game. Heihachi was the protag in the 2nd, then Jin in 3-5, then Lars in 6.

I really do hope that the last fighter is someone which would make the internet go wild and geno would be perfect since sakurai wanted to add him in brawl but due to geno being owned by square Enix at the time it was not possible and geno is a beloved character by many fans so it would be a great edition for sakurai and the Nintendo fans. It is interesting, seeing how Fighter Pass 2 is essentially Sakurai’s bucket list. He wanted Arms and Xenoblade 2 in Smash? We got it! Disputes with Minecraft and Final Fantasy? Taken care of! Friends with the Tekken guy? Heck yeah! Thinking about it, Ryu Hayabusa, Geno, and maybe Rayman seem to be the biggest choices here. Koei Tecmo has a good relationship with Nintendo, Sakurai has wanted Geno in Smash before, and Rayman gets referenced in multiple Smash games! Hype factor would be Geno, moveset potential would go to Hayabusa, star power for Rayman.

Last one should be Scorpion or Sub Zero. If it happens then SF, KOF, Tekken and MK would finally meet all in the same game

The most likely characters, assuming the theory still holds up, is gonna be either Ayumi Tachibana from the Famicom Detective Club series (considered for Smash since Melee) or a Rhythm Heaven rep (speculated to have one in the form of the Chorus Kids based on the Gematsu leak).

I would honestly love to have Sly Cooper in smash, but at this point I couldn’t see it happening.

I think that a character that has been spoken about to be cut or wanted to be in the original roster, but couldn't with budget cuts are the most likely. Characters like Decidueye, anything Monster Hunter, and potentially paying attention to mii costumes could also help deciding a character. Someoen like Ryu Hyabusa I think is not happening becaus the dierctor of his games said they haven't had any talks with Nintendo. I'm just gonna take his word for it.

There are some good points here. I think it's possible that we've been looking at this all wrong, and while Fighters Pass 1 intended on bringing brand new things to Smash, Fighters Pass 2 intended on tying up loose ends. 3 of them were from games that Sakurai had said before he wanted in Smash, one finally happened after trying to get in after 5 years of discussion, and the other represented the only fighter series from the base game that had nothing. If we're going by this logic, then the final fighter would probably be Geno.

to be honest, if they add a new pokemon, I hope its a grass type, its the only starter type that lacks a standalone rep, although the shin megami tensei V MC would be cool too, if only to see how they implement the demon allies in his gameplay, not to mention the badass music.

I think the last DLC fighter is Dante from Devil May Cry he would a big Character to be in smash ultimate (but I'm not getting my Hopes up) we shall see.
