I know by personal experience that French created this toast just to use their all week leftover bread on weekends, and mostly they had their Baguette 😊

I always went to diners for breakfast with friends on the weekends in the '90s. Breakfast ruins me for the day now. OMAD for me, these days. It was biscuits and gravy yesterday.
