Hamas and Hezbollah arrive in Iran for President Raisi funeral

Thousands of Iranians have gathered on the streets of Tabriz to mourn president Ebrahim Raisi after he was killed in a helicopter crash.

Mourners followed a funeral procession through the city in north-west Iran while waving Iranian flags and portraits of the late president.

Raisi and seven others were killed when a helicopter they were travelling in crashed in a mountainous area of Iran on Sunday.

Despite the huge crowds, not all Iranians supported the president and many celebrated his death on social media.

  • Look at the audience. Mainly old men crying, few women. I feel sorry for the Iranian youth. It's always the same in every country, the elderly ruling and telling the youth what to do. The young dying on the battlefield because of old narcissistic dictators...

    All are govt employees. Russia does the same when they want big crowd to show the whole world that people loves him.
  • If we all stayed in our own Countries, with people who shared our race and religion, we would all be more respectful of each other - Japan is a good example.
