ALL RIGHTY I think I need to do a pinned comment because I know that people do like I do and listen to the story while working on other things. I realized AFTER I finished the video that it's NOT Felix the Cat the guy was talking about, it was JAMES the Cat, which is like an older UK kids show. I think that's partially why I got them mixed up, because Felix the Cat is FAR more recognizable of a name for me. Sorry for the mix up!

I remember the James the Cat guy. For one of the artists, he got a response he didn't like, and he proceeded to call the artist a racial slur. He then claimed it wasn't him, despite the identical email address he had never made public.

As soon as I heard "James the Cat" I was reminded of the time someone requested that my friend draw something for that show. My friend declined because they were only drawing things for a specific fandom. The James the Cat dude responded by calling my friend the n word

I can’t believe someone would be so upset over a free art request. I’d also be upset as the artist that I put time and work into something I ended up being harassed for. I hope he doesn’t come back. The mention of James the cat made me surprised. That was a show from the 80's in britain i think. Although, you may have probably not heard of it aswell because most episodes are actually lost media. Anyways, that guy should have at least been grateful for the free art. Your artystle is wonderful and your ability to perservere with this guy definitely taught you some things. I will definitely be checking out more of your work in the future!

I am a foot fetish artist [Yes, thats relevant] you were REALLY lucky, without despiting or under appreciating your awful experience by any means I gotta tell you had it relatively "easy" and heres why. That weirdo moves a lot through DA and once arrived to my profile asking for a picture of James showing his feet. [Usual work for me] the problem is that this guy wanted it for free and when I denied to he would go full racist mode, homophobe, insult by nationality, etc. This would extend the same way it did with you with multi accounts. For adding he would ALSO get a picture out of your gallery or discord groups where you show your feet [some artist do that from time to time] and use that as a "bribing" strategy ; stupid considering it's in a common interest circle and people won't make fun of you. Yet the lowest thing he would recurr it's gathering pictures of cartel murders and mutilated people to sent to you as a shock technique. I was done all of the above until earlier this month decided to release his IP on a Twitter post exposing all of the things he has done to others, with a possible minor involved. And I regret NOTHING. I'm glad you had it better!

I once heard a similar story and the harassing person turned out to be 12 years old.

Sounds like one of those people that dm "You need to give me free art because I'm poor and you're prices are too expensive" Or asking for a multiple revisions for a raffle prize piece

Morale of the story, just never do requests X'D 11/10 times it's a weird fetish guy that will creep on you if not outright harass you like this.

Ahhhhh, yes... The James-the-Cat guy.... I also had an encounter with him on Twitter this year (he was harassing a mutual of mine to draw fetish art of James) and he is still just as bad as he was all those years ago. I also blocked him when he tried asking for art and I haven't heard from him for over a month.

That dude was so weird, he probably wanted to try and trace your art by using the sketch ( which might’ve been the reason why he wanted the speed paint), or maybe he was just a troll looking for an excuse to harass others. I’m glad he didn’t dox you, because people like him tend to do that sort of stuff. By the way, where did you get the brush you used for the freckles? It looks really good!

I have this one creep that kept asking me for child smut and bondage which made me switch requests to my only three trusted friends on DA. That’s my most recent.

James the cat is a British animation show that ran i think duing the 70s then had a reboot duing the 90s the show is some what lost media up to this point

I had a lunatic try to get my dA account shut down becuase I had in my artist dictriptions to please ask for permission before using my art. They called me names and used rude language, and were stocking around in the forums trying to find someone to hack my account. Simpley because they did not like the fact that I was protective of my art. Eventually I took it to the admins of dA and they dealt with the crazy person. But it was nuts, and a little scary.

Dude you are so underrated and your art is SO CUTE!!!! I'm really sorry this happened to you, that guy sounds like a total jerk and I'm very glad that he doesn't seem to be bothering you anymore. Keep up the good work, regardless! You've earned a new sub.

Hi, a few years ago i was also approched by this person and when i refused to draw that character for free he sent me 5 paypal invoices, tried to hack my paypal and all of my social media and sent me threats, gore and illegal porn. I cant believe hes still at it. Im so sorry.
