Michael Schumacher - Immortal

I feel like no matter what Hamilton accomplishes he will never be considered the GOAT over Michael. He will be up there with him but the vast majority will never give him the goat status. Tells you a lot about the dominance and impact Michael had on the sport. Watching Michael Schumacher driving the Prancing Horse was almost an out of body experience. The excitement, the passion, the sound of the V10s... It was remarkable. Hamilton's dominance in the V6T era will never match that.

Michael Phelps, Michael Jordan, Michael Jackson, Michael Schumacher - that name somehow raises GOATs.

This man deserves a monument on every F1 track. He is the best.

His decision to go to Ferrari, when he had offers from more competitive teams like Williams and McLaren, is what will always set him apart from the rest for me.

I remember I was 6 years old in 1996, accidentally saw formula one on TV and saw Michael. He became and is my hero to this day, and now im 32

I remember being a child and getting up at 05:00am to watch the races that take place at the other side of the earth in live, rather than as rebroadcast. I had to go to the toilet multiple times before the race start, because I was so tense and nervous. Micheal is the greatest race driver that ever existed and will ever exist. No matter how talented or successful other drivers are or will be - the aura Micheal Schumacher himself had and which he created around F1 as a whole is unrepeatable and his charisma is unmatchable. Such a remarkable character.

King of qualifying, king of race pace, king of defending , king of wet conditions, KING OF F1!

I visited the Ferrari: Under The Skin exhibition today in London where they have on show 2 of Michaels helmets the 1st and 2nd generation, his 1996 Ferrari racing jumpsuit and his 2000 Championship winning Ferrari and I stood there is utter awe. Dumbstruck by the power of these relics that were before me and I was very nearly moved to tears. When i was young my dad worked in Italy quite often and Michael came to eat at the restaurant of the hotel my dad was staying at. When my dad found out Michael Schumacher bad just turned up he asked a colleague of his if he could ask Michael for his signature for me to surprise me when he got back from Italy. My dad told his colleague that I had always wanted to be a car designer and this information was conveyed to Michael and upon hearing this Michael went so far as to write me an entire personalised letter and sign it off. I still have that letter framed in my room and each time I look at it I cry.

To me, Michael is the absolute best F1 driver... ever. I know I'm biased but who isn't. I will always cherish the memories of his era. Love and respect.

For me at 61, F1 will never be the same. This ended the era of perfection, passion and personality. With a simple team like Jordan, the world noticed a brand new face on the block. A legend entered the arena and what a privilege to have followed it to the end. Only this last chapter was not fair. Life is not fair, so let's live and give glory to God everyday because all money in the world does't gaurantee the next day. Miss you Michael.
