What Happened to Every #1 Overall Pick Since 2010?

Publicado 2024-02-04
In Major League Baseball the number 1 overall pick is not only a chance to rebuild your team, but a chance to draft a generational talent that can be the face of your franchise. Some teams luck out and they receive a pick that is MLB ready from the day they were drafted and others end up like the Astros who had 3 straight #1 overall picks yet only 1 saw consistent time in the majors.

Watch to find out who every number one pick since 2010 was and how their careers have panned out….

i love how mark appel knows that his career hasnt gone as planned, but just enjoyed playing baseball. i also like how the “bust” label doesnt bring him down, but actually embraces it and makes jokes about it.

What is scary, is Rutschman wasn't the only hit in that 2019 draft. The next round after selecting Adley, they grabbed ROTY Gunnar Henderson. Add Holiday to that mix, gonna be exciting.
  • Jackson Holliday was funny enough not even considered the consensus number one. The orioles shocked a good amount of people by choosing him over druw jones

I appreciate the Journalistic approach to this video. You are able to really cover great content I watch every minute. Well Done!
  • I taught Biology and Chemistry at LVHS from 2004-2014. I had both Bryan and Bryce in class. Bryce was not ”basically baseball Jesus” at school. At least wasn’t treated like he was baseball Jesus. He was actually one of the most humble and kindhearted kids I ever had the pleasure of teaching. I remember watching him get up from a table where about 10 or so of his friends were gathered and walk over to sit next to a kid that pretty socially awkward and struggled making friends. Bryce just started making conversation and connecting with him. I thought it was really wholesome and healthy-minded that a 14yo boy noticed the kid that everyone else seemed to ignore and made him feel seen. People might not like him because of how competitive or hotheaded he gets, but I can attest that he is someone that you’d want as a friend or a neighbor.

Amazing video all-around, great stuff. You deserve more subs than you currently have, and you just gained one in me! The editing is great, your voice/delivery are fantastic as well. I'll be recommending this channel to a bunch of my friends. I also wanted to say, I was definitely confused at 8:24 because you hadn't specified that the list was including only qualified pitchers, even if they threw over 50 innings. As a Mets fan, I paused there for a sec and was like "Wait, didn't Jacob DeGrom throw like 100 innings or so in 2021 and had damn near a 400 ERA+?!" LOL. But I quickly figured you meant just qualified pitchers, especially after you pointed out right afterwards that it was due to the low sample size. That 2020 season was definitely wacky, especially for the record books, I always forget to think harder about stats that came out of that season.
