Ricardo Vargas Explains the PMBOK® Guide 7th Edition Published by PMI

Understand one of the most relevant standards adopted in project management globally: The PMBOK® Guide 7th Edition, published by PMI (Project Management Institute).

I first created this type of video in 1998 when I was studying for my PMP exam.

Since then, I decided to publish this type of video to help professionals who work on projects understand the Guide and lose fear or prejudice about its content or format.

In the video, I use a canvas that you can download for free at get.ricardo-vargas.com/pmbok7canvasen in English and several other languages.

An important note is that this video expresses my vision and opinion. It was not sponsored by the PMI (Project Management Institute) and did not necessarily reflect the institute's position.

The video has subtitles and closed captions in English.

Ricardo this is beyond legendry. You should be lecturing at MIT, Harvard, or Stanford. Thank you for adding value to the body of knowledge.
  • This is not a project management lecture, this is a life lecture! Thank you so much Ricardo.
  • I watched a number of your videos the past couple of days to reinforce what l studied and l am so grateful l passed my pmp today. Thank you for helping people achieve their goals
  • I typically refrain from commenting on videos, but I simply couldn't resist expressing my amazement. This video truly speaks from the heart and embodies a genuine desire to give back and assist others. The creator isn't driven by likes or subscriptions; their altruism is evident. What's more remarkable is that all of this valuable content is freely shared. I'm thoroughly impressed and sincerely want to extend my gratitude. This video has taught me a great deal, and as you rightly pointed out, I didn't watch it just to pass an exam but to enhance my skills as a manager or leader. Thank you for your time and for this invaluable contribution.

dude i am only like 19 minutes in, this dude KNOWS what he is teaching i know nothing about this thing btw, but i understood nothing from other people's videos. the ability to teach someone who knows nothing about this, is insane ❤ his definitions are so easy to understand, even the obvious things have a layer of depth so you know why it's there. he is not speed running the book, he is teaching well. it's as if he KNOWS exactly what i want to know about at any point. he is teaching from experience. AND he is also giving solid advices that can be applied to personal life

Hi Ricardo, I just passed my PMP exam and just want to acknowledge the huge part your videos played in preparing me and giving me the courage to face the exam. Keep up the good work!
  • As a former teacher, I really commend the passion Ricardo puts into teaching coupled with the real-life examples to buttress the points he's making. Its the stuff legends are made of. Really enjoyed watching this.
  • @rubenschinali
Always a lecture that we will refer to when talking about the editions of the PMBOK, and the fact that you make this available to all is even more outstanding! Thanks for the amazing work, Ricardo!
  • Thanks for putting this together Ricardo. This is exactly what I was looking for. I know you put a tremendous amount of work into the graphics and production of this video, and to offer it for free says a lot about your character as a person. I am just starting in the world of PMP and appreciate what your doing. Keep up the great work!
  • @erzeza
I'm happy to see how PMI moved from a "robotic project management" to a more human & value oriented approach. The day will come when we'll not be able to differentiate it from Scrum, Kanban, and so many other agile (or not) methodologies...
  • Thank you for taking out time to create this video! Helped a lot and truly appreciate your sincere efforts in giving back and doing so much for the project management fraternity! ❤
  • @leventekiss2039
Well done as always Ricardo! Appreciate your hard work and passion. Superhero of project managers!:)
  • my friend who is a PMP, recommended me to first see Ricardo Vargas's YT explanation before taking any steps to proceed for PMP exam. And I did exactly that and now is confident than ever to approach the PMBOK guide. I would too suggest anyone PMP seeker to first familiar yourself with Vargas videos to gain a clear understanding of the framework

Just started watching your videos -I love how you break everything down. The PMBOK can be overwhelming when you first look at it - but when you break it down it is so easy to understand. Thank you so much.
