It’s all fun and games living in this apartment until you randomly connect to delta airlines wifi
-
Now, who decided to build the tower 425 meters instead of 432?
-
If you don't count the massive pole on top of the world trade centre, this is actually the tallest building in New York.
-
Business man : "Wow what inspired you to build this mega structure!" Architect : "err a bin."
-
I don’t care about how it might be scary living up there I would love to live up there not just for the awesome apartment but for that private amazing view
-
I cant believe how this building can stand stable!
-
No idea why everyone thinks it looks bad. The New York skyline is about wow factor more than aesthetics. And this has a shit load of it. If you want a pretty city, go to Paris.
-
How many elevator shafts did they fit in? What's the average commute time to/from the top? Moving so many people around efficiently in such a slim and tall building is itself complex.
-
I will agree with everyone that it doesn't blend in, but there's something beautiful about squares and utilitarianism.
-
Looks unreal
-
Last image with the light shining through the mechanical floors, wonderful. Just as iconic as the neighboring ATT building and the Citibank building.
-
Truly unbelievable how fast this was done.Love all the Historical buildings that most don't take the time to really enjoy. Thanks so much for sharing Deb

I wish buildings like this were extremely more affordable although I know that isn's quite possible with land value and such. It's a shame that only the immensely wealthy and privileged get to experience it.
-
According to Wikipedia the architect was inspired by a "trash can"

The B1M is fantastic! Excellent videos for people who enjoy the why or how behind some of the worlds largest structures. Very much a fan. Thank you!!!!

I remember seeing this building on my last trip to New York and being fascinated by it. Cool to learn more!

Oh man you couldnt pay me to live in something that tall and slender. I'd freak every fall during hurricane season or during a summer storm. Or even a gentle breeze for that matter. Id be thinking the stress and fatigue on that concrete and steel must be mind boggling . I'd always have the feeling it would break off at the bottom or crack the foundation walls and flip over.

Fantastic video. Thanks a lot for explaining how this engineering marvel came to be.

The Twin Towers were huge in width and extremely tall, on top of that they were two! Humans had got the great idea of duplicate one of their biggest achievements in engineering ever. Two behemoth towers! It was their massive scale and duality what made them look so colossal and imposing against the NY skyline. That’s why they were so iconic and unique. I’d give anything to go back in time and contemplate them in person, standing right in the middle of them, looking straight up at their immensity. That’s what I like about skyscrapers and tall structures in general. It’s not the design at all but their sheer size what gets me everytime. Whenever I see a tall building I always want to get as near as possible and look up at it. I love the fact of being right below something so big and tall compared to me and the sensation of dizziness and butterflies in my stomach it produces as if I were falling towards the sky. It’s like pure adrenaline to me! Btw I’m an architect and I think 432 park avenue is a great example of this and I just love it !
