The Most HUMAN Overpowered Main Character - Guts from Berserk

Guts is the guy who doesn’t feel the need to tell you he hasn’t sleep in days when you tell him you’re tired

They say Death once had a near Guts experience.

The part where Guts kills the Count and leaves his daughter with literally nothing left to live for was one of the craziest and most thought provocing parts of the story. She says she's going to kill herself and Guts just tosses her his dagger and says "well do it then". He doesn't do that because he is evil or edgey. He does it to save her life. He knows that just like himself, this poor girl had lost everything including the will to live and became broken. So because he didn't know any other way to help her, he turned her into something similar to himself. He gave her someone to hate the same way he hates Griffith. He gives her an enemy worth seeking revenge against. A reason to live, even though it will be a dark life. So she decides not to kill herself but instead she swears vengeance against Guts. She is now a struggler the same as him. Driven forward by hatred but still living to fight another day with the potential to one day make herself whole again. It wasn't the right thing to do. But Guts himself was broken. It was all he could do. As he walks away he breaks down into tears knowing he had just created a dark, broken soul. None of this is spelled out for the reader. It's something that at first glance seems like an edgey dick move. But once you think about it the real message becomes clear. That is why Berserk is the best story ever written.

Forget the story of Berserk, Gut’s backstory alone makes all other hero/protagonists look like children

Batman: I have the darkest origin. I've lost my parents. Guts: That's cute.

Guts: "screams" Me:...."screams" Guts:......"so you understand"

Before reading Berserk: "This guy looks like a generic, edgy tough guy." After reading Berserk: "This guy is one of the best main characters ever."

A big portion of the manga is just Guts being too angry to die

I feel like I and every Berserk fan can now truly relate to Guts... In the endless struggle to find a good adaptation

Guts died a few years ago.. Death still building the courage to tell him..

Both Guts's and Griffith's characters are genius level depictions. Kentaro Miura has made one of the greatest stories ever. His understanding of how to weave it up like that is absurd. Such good ideas.

Guts was born from his mother after she'd been strung up on a tree and died via hanging. He literally came out of his mother's corpse. THAT was his birth. Title for "Worst Life Ever" will always and forever go to Guts.

Guts is probably the best anime character i've seen. So much development in a character, haven't seen a single anime character develope mentally and physically the way Guts has.
