i’m from LATAM and here “ugly betty” (the original show) is HUGE, the cultural impact is insane. When “ugly betty” entered netflix LATAM it was number #1 for weeks, people was watching it all over again, new generations were watching it for the very first time too. Totally crazy. And also, today we can finally call America Ferrera an Academy Award Nominee 🎉.

Ugly Betty is an iconic series but I truly will never forgive ABC Studios for convincing the world that AMERICA FERERRA could ever be ugly like absolutely not Edit: for those who aren’t understanding what I’m saying let me be clear: I understand the point of the SHOW was to have America be “ugly” in a beautiful world, but the show’s messaging worked a little too well as so many people thought America IN REAL LIFE was ugly until she was on Superstore.
