  • They are the best cats. Great personality, friendly and loyal. Just big grey balls of fun. The best cats ever. Love them ❤🐈 ❤

I own a purebred British Shorthair. I named him Winston ( after Winston Churchill) . Winston is gorgeous, sweet and very patient. I can bathe him, cut his nails, groom him, massage his paw pads. He is in love with my adorable tiny Pomeranian. He does like being picked up, being kissed and cuddled . He is very attached to me and very social with visitors. Winston is very intelligent. I have taught him several tricks and obedience commands. It’s amazing . I adore him
  • My cat is so typical of British shorthair...never sits on my lap, got chubby quicky (even though I watch his calories intake and try to get him to exercise), takes forever to learn a trick, only meows to me when he needs something...however he will stay next to me when he feels like it and tolerates my cuddling and kissing (for a very limited amount of time...) 😆

Mine is the exact opposite of a typical British Short hair. He'll sit on my lap every chance he gets He's a talker and meows just because he can The only time he's relaxed and calm is when he's asleep He's not a big eater And one thing they never tell you is that they shed A LOT of hair, especially during summer.
  • I have a British shorthair cat and it’s called “Kit Kit” and it stayed with me since I grew up and it likes me as its main owner. It does what stuff like the video says but it does lay on me a lot to snuggle.

I just adopted my first British shorthair in December, he’s only 3 years old. Almost everything here is true about him, except he loves playing, running, and plays fetch, which he did on his own. I’m happy you mentioned the weight, we don’t over feed him, but he loves his Churo treats, he is very vocal about that lol.

We have 4 British shorthairs. This video is excellent. There are individual differences. We have one lap cat. All are under 4 yrs. Of age, so they all are a bit active. Bouncing ping pong balls, boxes and plastic springs are winners. One is so intelligent, it’s scary.

so true for my British cat.. she is bot playful at all..
  • Mine were the most affectionate cuddlers I ever had. Right along with my Burmese.
  • The BSH show their affection in their own way haha I think they’re a good practice to have a secure attachment. Like they love you but they dont need to be clingy and showy about it 😅 BSH’s are actually really smart. Sometimes they’ll misbehave to get your attention but I think it’s really isolated times.

My Scottish Straight ear is crossed with British Shorthair. She has a very plush coat that sheds a lot. I'm kind of allergic to her. She is super sweet, smart, and meows quietly. She doesn't like to be hugged or held for more than a few seconds, so she wiggles away. She loves to be petted and brushed and will sit with her paws on my lap. She loves to play.

All true. I really wish my Pepper was more of a lap cat. She is super naughty and jumps up on the counter and dining table all the time. She gets a goopy eye several times a year and she gets poop stuck to her butt and sometimes leaves giblets around the house. Despite all the cons, having her has been overwhelmingly positive. We love our Pepper bear. She is sweetest in the morning and will cuddle up and purr after she she gets her breakfast. After that, she plays hard to get 😂

Ours is a lap cat. ❤. He is British longhair. Very playful but still young
